I suggest until you wait for the Windows 10 event to get a bigger picture what to buy first. But if you want a unified store from Windows 10 on PC, Tablet, Phone and Console for purchasing once on all these devices. Along with constant updates every month then. The Xbox. But if you want just games and also specs then PS4

In b4 lock. Xbone is better entertainment console while PS4 is unquestionably the better Gaming console. I favor ps4 due to more power, more games total, better 1st party support, SHAREPLAY (this alone), and PS NOW

If you are only going to own one game system this gen, it might as well be the PS4. BUT, the x1 atm and imo has a stronger library of exclusives and better media features.

PS4 better hardware, better games, better multiplats
