Microsoft has already kicked off their XBox One Tour covering 75 cities around the world. They have hit Philadelphia first.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpv7iroRGU4&feature=youtu.be

They will be heading to Paris next.

http://www.vg247.com/2013/09/30/xbox-one-world-tour-starting-october-1-play-in-a-city-near-you-soon/

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/onetour

Games looked pretty good to me. I might sign up for the event in my city.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When is Sony's PS4 Tour starting? You would think they would have something announced or going on by now since they are actually launching before the XBox One. We haven't heard anything from Sony. Last big news was their Taco Bell Promotion. I wanted to try the PS4 before launch. Make it happen Sony. Only a month to go.

The only reason Xbone is having a tour is to get people interested in their console.

Coming off Sony's fantastic first showing, their gargantuan e3 and the insane amount of developer feedback and positive community response, they don't really need one.

Let's not forget the $100 cheaper price tag as well, that's also sure to get tongues wagging.

Completely idiotic statement. They don't need to get people interested, it's called marketing and taking the games and letting gamers have a chance to test out the games for themselves. It's people like you who will be taken advantage of. Wow, a gargantuan e3, developer feedback and positive community response is more important than getting your own hands on the games and trying out the system. Leave it to the cows to say Sony doesn't need to show the games to the gamers.

They are still figuring out how to get all that GDDRs into the console, I mean the last I saw it was still running on big ass dev kits. I hear they have recruited school children to help them work it out. Meanwhile, the XB1 is kicking ass on tour and coming to a city near you.

@mprince131: you have a point somewhat, It's always better to have a chance to actually "play" the games instead of believing hype.

So you're telling me Sony fanboys don't want to try all those PS4 games BEFORE the system launches? I honestly don't believe that. I'm getting a PS4 and I'd love to give KZ:SF a try and definitely Infamous SS. Sure Microsoft wants to get more people interested, but there are probably more people that want to try PS4 games then that. If they are excited as you say, they area eager to get their hands on the new DS4 controller and see the games up close and personal. I know I am.

Yeah, that's great, but unfortunately it's only for press, people working in the gaming industry and professional bloggers. It's not for your normal public consumers. Most of those people probably already played it at the E3, Gamescom, TGS, & EuroGames.

What's that got to do with Sony having a Worldwide Tour to let gamers try the PS4? Changing the subject doesn't answer the question. One of the reasons I want to try the games first is to see if they are worth the purchase. Ryse & Knack have both gotten a bad rap, so I'd like to play both games for myself and is if they are actually worth the $60 or not. Get some feedback from other gamers who play it as well. This is all a good thing.

The point is Sony doesn't need to garner good will towards their system, whereas Xbone sure as hell does.

would trying the launch games out be good? sure I guess but I'm really not interested in the launch titles for either system so it really doesn't apply to me.

Sony really has no need to do this, the console itself is a huge selling point as it stands. Microsoft dug themselves a stupidly deep hole with their idiocy and moronic policies, now they have to sucker people back into being interested any way they can.

Just yesterday I saw that they are now mimicking the Sony/Tacobell giveaway with mountain dew and doritos. Basically the same thing but they're "giving away" an xbone every 2 minutes with some stupid points scheme (WHOEVER GETS TEH MOST POINTS WILL BE ENTERED INTO A DRAWING TO WIN!!1). Gotta sucker those suckers back in any way they can...go go mountain doritos!

exactly, it's the fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me syndrome. There's a large amount of uncertainty around Microsoft at the moment.

The biggest thing xbone has going for it is it's promise as a multimedia center unfortunately, TV's been on the way out for a while now with many other options available to watch shows, hell paying for Cable in itself is mostly a total waste.

Why are you viewing this as MS trying to "garner good will"? It's a marketing tactic, plain and simple, it's no different to the consoles showing up at expo's and conventions or having them set up in a store, it's a way for your average person to get some information about the console and play with a few games.

Letting the unwashed masses play the system, show them there's nothing scary about it and the NSA won't be busting down their door. obviously I'm exaggerating a bit but seriously, Sony's in a much better positition right now when it comes to positive feedback.

You can look at it how you want, but MS really is trying to gather interest in their system where as Sony's already had it.

Yeah, please go back and read what you just said.. Once 1.5 million PS4s are all over everywhere... what's the point of a touring bus?

Seriously, Lemmings have shut off their brains completely these last few months. At least remember to breath, even if through your mouths.

I haven't seen any PS4 advertisements yet. If Sony did have a tour, I'd be hoping it came to my city so I could try out several of the games I'm on the fence about purchasing. Game consoles are about GAMES. Microsoft's getting gamers to play their games first will obviously get more people interested in it. They did this same thing with the XBox 360. They also ran a similar Doritos/Mountain Dew promotion as well. Great marketing is what helped make the XBox 360 a huge success.

The gaming press singing along with MS to the tune of millions in advertising budgets whilst turning a blind eye to RRoD as well as the cost of Live fees is what made the 360 a success. Not to mention Sony, essentially, lying down in train tracks through '06 and '07 under Kuturagi.

The tables have turned.

The point in letting someone try something before you buy it, is so you can sell it to them. Anyways game stores should start receiving Kiosks this month, so anyone can try out the systems. Again sony does not need to convince anyone to buy the PS4. If you have a great product, why would you need to convince anyone of it.

The systems haven't launched yet, so we'll see. PS4 could end up with issues like the Xbox 360's RROD. Their power brick is actually inside their box and it's smaller then the Xbox One's frame. No one knows what will happen over the next 2-3 years. By that time, I'll be enjoying so many PS4 and XB1 exclusives that I probably won't even care.

I'm not talking about the system. I'm talking about the GAMES. As I've always said before. Hardware is meaningless unless you have quality games to play on it. I'd find it hard to believe no cows on here would want to try PS4 games before the get their systems. So it's not about buying a PS4. It's about playing the GAMES on the PS4.

Most people buying the console at launch don't care whether or not they try out the system before launch. After launch? Probably but that's why there are kiosks. Pretty sure they'll have kiosks in most stores by the end of this month or at least at launch.

I don't see why Sony should go out of their way just copy this marketing strategy. Sony's got plenty of momentum going into launch and word of mouth. Not to mention Microsoft's blunders have done wonders for the PS4. They'll also have their more conventional market strategies like UEFA Champions League Ads, online trailers etc.

God you can't read...

MS here needs to generate as much interest as they can for their console, Sony in this instance doesn't. What GTSaiyanjin2 was saying was that Sony is doing pretty well at this point, they don't need to generate more interest in their console like MS does. In this case, the pre-orders are relevant.

As for ReadingRainbow4, he said he isn't interested in the launch titles for the consoles. He DID NOT say that he wasn't interested in the systems. Is it really that hard?

I know a LOT of people who would love to try the PS4 games before the system launches. Maybe you don't, but most gamers would. They probably don't need a tour, but they definitely should get those kiosk out well before launch. Microsoft may have had some blunders, but they are slowly turning things around. There is a lot more positive now for the XB1 then there was at the E3. Sony had to go through the same thing with the PS3 and it took them over 2 years to start to turn things around. I'll be surprised if it takes Microsoft that long. I'll report back once I seen some PS4 kiosk at retailers.

Lets see Sony say it has more than 1 million pre-orders like a month ago,and MS hasn't even hint a number or close.

Sony is doing great and they are showing the console,in fact several photos of first demo stations have been posted on neogaf a few days ago,not to mention playstation house on france which is something that may spam to other countries.

Too bad Microsoft announced the MTN Dew promotion before Sony and their Taco Bell thing. Besides they did the same thing with 360 and Mountain Dew. Just because you just saw it doesn't mean they copied. Get your facts right.

I dont think they need one.... they already have 1.5 million pre orders.

What does pre-orders have to do with trying PS4 games out before the system launches? It's completely irrelevant.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The point in letting someone try something before you buy it, is so you can sell it to them. Anyways game stores should start receiving Kiosks this month, so anyone can try out the systems. Again sony does not need to convince anyone to buy the PS4. If you have a great product, why would you need to convince anyone of it.

You cant be seriously talking about launch games??? Neither sony or MS have anything that stands out. Sure the launch titles are decent this time around compared to past generations, but its still nothing to brag about. No game on either side is worth buying a $400-500 console, but people will still buy them, because they knows the quality games will eventually come.

quite simply, Sony can't really afford to, luckily they have more consumer support than Microsoft at the moment, MS is still fighting an uphill battle since their initial pre-E3 and E3 reveals

The only reason Xbone is having a tour is to get people interested in their console.

Coming off Sony's fantastic first showing, their gargantuan e3 and the insane amount of developer feedback and positive community response, they don't really need one.

@blackace: You don't need a Touch.. you can go an try the PS4 from Stores.. they usually have one set up before release to try.. only downside is that those are usually soo crowded you might not want to wait... Regardless it'll play the same way a PS3 played.. it's just a hardware update... so games won't be so clunky as they've been lately.

Microsoft has already kicked off their XBox One Tour covering 75 cities around the world. They have hit Philadelphia first.

They will be heading to Paris next.

Games looked pretty good to me. I might sign up for the event in my city.

Get over it bro, Sony doesn't need to. They already have advertisements and are the more popular system.
