They do look similar; Xbox One is just a more modern design of the CD-i.

It's not really ugly -- just bulky and boring-looking.

It looks like most hardware you see lying under TVs these days. I think it would fit right at home beside an AV receiver stack. It's simple and easy and I actually kinda like it

I'm curious about the PS4 though, the teaser images hinted at some weirdly shaped design. Not that it matters cos a few years later the PS4 slim will come

It's what I would call a minimalist design. There's something to be said for streamlining but this could be taking that principle a tad too far, lol. Just looking at it, if not for the Xbox logo, you'd never guess what it was for.

Well after all they want to make sure they designed it for the intended audience.

I'm all up for chubby's because i do like to have something to grab.... but..... there was something about it that i found ugly... so so sooo ugly..... 

I don't understand the big fuss over the design of the console. It looks fine, like a video game console. PS4 will probably also look weird too.

I actually like how it looks, it's very sturdy.

I actually don't mind the way it looks... it's what it does and doesn't do that I don't like.

I have a feeling that no matter what the PS4 looks like this same thread will show up though. :P
