As much as they have japanese support, they don't have the mainstream japanese developers support. You think that those three are the only major japanes video game developers? There are way a lot of japanese game developer than you think. You should also know that only 30% or less of all japanese games are ported to US and Europe. Don't forget the anime, dating simulations, weird, japanese artistic kind of games that are made for japanese gamers. Capcom for instance may give 2-3 games to X360 for it's US and Euro market, but it develops way more games to the Wii or PS3 for it's core japanese market.

Well, if you put it that way: "majority X360 does not care," then you can get enough japanese games for your satisfaction but in the market share base, it's not good. Do you wonder why still a lot of analysts and thinks that X360 will not win this gen right? Because it does not have a significant market in Japan. And to all gaming history, it need all three regions. Yes, X360 need Japan. Yes, US and Euro (not likely the case) are not enough.

Yup, but those games for Japanese X360 are just a fraction compare to those that will be available for both Wii and PS3. Simply because Japanese developers will support more on the Japanese product. Even Microsoft knows.

The 360 will probably get support from most of the mayor Japanese devs.

But something that doesn't get taken into account is the centric support in Japan. Heavily centric Japanese games like Mahjong or Dating Sims and the like. Games that are meant to only be released in Japan. Those games also weight a lot, and they usually come in numbers. you can't just do great with some few and far heavy hitters.

Indeed major and the reason that's stopping them for winning this gen. You can't simply win without the big 3.

The rumor about Mistwalker's acquisition of the Chrono series license is, of course, bogus. I wouldn't mind if they did though, since Square Enix doesn't seem to be planning on doing anything with it soon. As long as it's of the same caliber of the other Chrono games, I'm not worried who makes it. I'm on the fence about what console to get besides a Wii; if a new Chrono game were announced, then the decision would be so easy.
