You can play all the games without a hard drive. NO problems. Just like PS2.
A 100 dollar gift card? I find that hard to believe. If this is true though, definetly going to get my GF it and use the 100 dollar gift card on COD/Left 4 dead 2. It's a win/win situation, plus a new 360 with a 3 year warranty. You can get a used 20 gig harddrive with a warranty off ebay for like 20 dollars if you look hard enough.
And it come's to $0 with a $199 gift card. What's the point of this topic? Are you giving away gift cards? Is Walmart giving away $100 dollar gift cards? Am I missing something here?

HDD is not the engine... bad analogy. You're right though, they should discontinue it.
I don't buy used video game electronics unless they're made by Nintendo, and I sure as hell don't buy Xbox 360 products used.
Better yet, just don't buy 360 products at all.
I would buy a 360 for $150 if RROD and E74 were fixed, online play was free (they can charge for cross game chat, twitter, facebook, etc. for all I care), and a decent sized hard drive was included.

Though it is tempting at $200 I probably will pass. I just wish live was free. I mean still a good offer since you can use the $100 certificate and get the 60gb Hard Drive Bundle with it. So essentially you are getting a Jasper Pro Unit with 3 months free of live for $200 plus tax.

Um, well the arcades provide a cheap alternative to upgrading and getting an HDMI port for those of us who still use the Pro. Also, white 360 > black 360.
