That’s a problematic thing for a game, and is oftentimes is in the middle of a multiplayer session, we’ve worked very hard to overcome that, but that’s not to say it’s going to be a reality in every case.”

Playing the PS4 more than 10 minutes may put it into thermal lockout. Every system has its limitations.

Hmm so i may get knocked out of a game once a month for an update? While that shouldn't happen i'd have to say i've been knocked out of games from people quiting and the like many times in one session before. I wouldn't be surprised if this is fixed in the future if true

This is a non issue. If you have it in standby mode all the time, I'm sure they can push down code that determines the current activity. If no one's using it, they can probably push down an update. Done. Kinda like your cable box gets show updates every week without you knowing it. It sure beats having to manually update. It seems like my PS3 has an update every other week. I'd much rather them be behind the scenes

If this turns out to be true I will be absolutely flabbergasted. Even in the good old days of Windows Xp the system would inform you the update is ready and offer you the choice of doing it now or postponing it for a bit. It wouldn't force an unexpected reboot.
