my controller runs out of batteries within 20 hours of gameplay thats not even half a game an i buy new batteries

the 360 controller seemed to last longer the wireless one so battery life i dunno why its draining so much

also the 360 one had plug in controllers so i could just use those full time if i did run outa batteries

i dunno how the ps4 controller works but if they can plug theres an play full time its def better than what we have

also the 360 controller was way more comfortable (had more weight to it) and was better designed a lil bigger, better positioned on my hands

i dunno what happened why did u screw this one up so bad

its draining batteries like crazy its smaller and lighter(plasticy) and not as like well made i guess i would say

it doesn't plug into a pc an play games like the 360 controller did with a usb its actually very hard to get it working on pc

why did u do this MS just fix it go back to the old one for xbox one let me use that one ffs i dont want to buy batteries i dont wanna buy ur recharger for 30 bux or whatever

can any lems give me some feedback on what i can do?

Buy the play and charge kit if it bothers you and even if you don't use the charger (say for more than one controller) you could just use the charging cable to play and that way it wouldn't need to use any sort of battery!

Yeah the battery life is awful, but as the other user said. You can play it with a usb cable even without using a play and charge kit.

After extensive use, my only gripes with the XB1 controller remain how terrible the bumper buttons are and the flimsy center buttons, particularly their confusing names and symbols (view + menu). If the bumpers were better, I'd unplug my 360 pad from my PC and adopt the X1 for my controller games. Granted, if DS4 were simpler to plug and play, I'd actually take it instead.

i have one of these http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-one/accessories/xbox-one-power-kit-plus/111589

Came with 2 rechargeable battery packs for my controllers, 20 hour life of the battery, charges by simply plugging into the usb port on the console, and only takes a few hours to completely recharge

Its just a simple micro usb cable. They come in all sizes. DS4 uses the same connector type.

I bought two pairs of rechargeable batteries in 2005 and also a dock to charge them in so I don't have the problem that you seem to be having. I suggest you do the same.

You have to adapt to the bumpers but once you do then the controller is superior to the 360s. I actually went back the other to the 360 pad after not using it for a while and was shocked at how much better the X1 is.

Yeah, as others said, I'm using my phone's charger USB cable and I don't need any batteries at all. The batteries usually lasted me about 4 days compared to over a week with 360. That way I'm able to save around

100 bucks on batteries a year.

I still prefer the 360 controller but the X1 is basically the same and it also is far better then PS4's controller. As far as batteries I just use rechargeable ones. It only takes a second to switch them out for a freshly charge battery.

Not a big fan of xbone controller. 360 controller was best ever but on xbone sticks too small, bumbers are atrocious, and the controller cramps my hands. PS4 controller 2nd best controller I've used. Damn near perfect. The touchpad is awesome too

Seeing that you calling people "lems" leads me to believe your not being serious. I can get a couple of days use out of my X1 controller while I can barely get half a day out of my PS4 controller. Clearly to me the X1 gives you a longer battery life out of the two current gen consoles.

@xhawk27: yeah and the ds4 gets squeaky triggers and the analogue sticks seem to crumble and fall apart after standard use. It's Sony's most comfortable controller by far, but also their cheapest. Just the feeling of those sticks on day one bothered me.

As a ps4/x1 owner I will chose the x1 controller any day. The bumpers are different, not worse, and after you adjust to them they become far superior. It took me a couple hours of dead rising when I first got my console to get used to it, now I find the ps4 and X360 bumpers to just be decent. I love the x1 controller, my batteries usually last between 20 and 30 hours depending, while my ps4 controller dies in 5 or 6 hours regularly.

Yeah this. The play & charge kit is essential I think.

Could be worse... It could have the longevity of the DS4 battery.

Just buy a $25 rechargeable battery pack. Here. Just switch them out as easy as 1, 2, 3.

With the Wii U pro controller, there really isn't an excuse for any of this shit.

"Buy an extra thing, play with it plugged in", ect, ect.

Bullshit.

Make a good controller that has a not shit battery life.

@Basinboy: i can agree to this , at least on one part, the bumpers are pretty garbage, they are harder to click and for some reason are more further out and spread out from the triggers then from the 360, when I play MCC, Melee sometimes is pretty hard on bumper jumper controller settings

The 360 controller is better then the XB1 controller but the XB1 Controller is still good and I like it

I bought 4 Duracell rechargeable batteries and a charger for 20 bucks. Good for 5 years or Duracell will pay you back. Or like you said, just plug it in with a standard mini usb phone cable.

There are rechargeable batteries you know. BTW, the battery life in the PS4 controller isn't exactly great, with that stupid light on the front.

Not sure what that has to do with anything, but yes, the DS4 doesn't get off scott free here either.

Im just saying a controller is there to play games. All these needless features. The wiiu pro controller is the perfect example of a great controller. Great dpad, great buttons, great build, and great battery.

I remember when microsoft was building up hype about the controller and how they went through a trillion designs and emphasized how the plastic was formed on the buttons........lol

Not surprised the new XBO controller drains batteries quicker, it has double the rumble motors. Get a rechargeable battery, or play with the cord plugged in.

yeah nothing to see here, OP is basically lying there are enough people agreeing in this thread that one can usually get atleast 3 days of playtime out of the xbox one controller...etc...etc
