Wow, the PS3's web browser is great now!

Nice new improvement to the PS3's multi-media functionality with the Flash 9 update, and memory limit increase. Now you can go to sites such as gametrailers, and watch any gameplay video/trailer you would like without having to download it to your harddrive. Even Aim Express works now! =D

Sure you could just get on the family computer to do all those things, but why not just sit on the comfort of your couch or bed to use a web browser? Kudos to Sony giving the PS3 something minor that we didn't really ask for but appreciates it. Just one of the many great features that released with firmware update 2.50.

Console browsers are a waste of time imo, its just some secondary feature they have just to add an extra bullet point to their "impressive" features list. Why toast bread under a grill when you can just use a toaster? Crap analogy, but you get the idea.

I enjoy the fact that I can watch anime right inside my room on my big screen while I lay on my comfy bed with the A/C blowing cool air at 70 degrees.

No. The PS3 is both a multi-media device, and a gaming console. Also, not everyone has a laptop. =P Im waiting until my freshman year of college to buy my own.

I'd only use it to see if it would work on the psp using remote play.

but can only do a smigin of the multimedia funtions of my pc so its not really a true multi media device. if you can have you ps3 hooked into the tv you can also hook a pc into the tv and use it from the couch.
