This isnt the first time a game got nominated for a Grammy, but what a beauty it is that Journey gets this recognition. Journey will be competing against the likes of Hans Zimmern amd John Williams for Best Original Score at the Grammy Awards. If any of you havent heard the Journey soundtrack yet, listen to the Journey OST song called Apotheosis. It is literally one of the most beautiful songs a game has ever had Here is your link if u really need it : http://www.gamespot.com/news/journey-soundtrack-nominated-for-grammy-award-6401149ms555

As good as Journey is, Hans Zimmer is a playing field on a whole different level. Still, it's an honor for Journey to be even nominated for such an award. Now if it won, that'd be something. So you play scores? Thats nice, we play games.[QUOTE="clyde46"][QUOTE="Meeeper282"]

So thats 2 downloads then... Journey has received more recognition for its quality this year than almost any other game. Getting both the vga awards goty nomination and now a huge grammy nomination. If ur trying to create the illusion nobody cares about journey, ur incredibly mistaken. Its actually one of 2012's most important gamesCant disagree tho, the chanting themes of dark knight rises are incredible. I also love hans zimmerns work in inception ALOTHans Zimmer did the Dark Knight Rises Soundtrack which is far better. After the movie I immediately bought the OST since it was so good. Ex. The Fire Rises

Why would Journey compete with a game's OSTs when Journey is not even a game? Comparing it to movies is much more fitting. Most movies are 90 minutes just like Journey is. The price of a movie ticket is around what it costs to play Journey as well.

Hans Zimmer is great. His music in Modern Warfare 2 was awesome as well, probably the only thing that I actually liked about that game.

Hans zimmern is one of the reasons inception is my favorite movie of all time. His score just made the movie even more mind blowing than it already was The chanting in dark knight rises is simply mesmorizing. Its crazy what hans zimmern does with soundJourney's OST is great, no wonder it's up for nomination ! And competing against Mr. Hans only prooves that it's score is a masterpiece !!!
Blind hateboys can yap all they want, let the butthurt flow through them !
Unfortunate that a non-game gets nominated for best OST when there have been better soundtracks in games for years.
However, Grammy's are for the actual soundtrack, not the game or its use in the game. Its for the CD or digital release, as an album form. Hell, while I think Mass Effect 3 had the best overall score in game this year, the OST release itself was a disapointment and because of a botched incomplete release, it shouldn't win a grammy.Unfortunate that a non-game gets nominated for best OST when there have been better soundtracks in games for years.

That'll only happen when Dragon Age III comes out and he has to defend it. and yet I don't defend Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age Origins, or the failing aspects of Jade Empire or the first Mass Effect game...thats because I don't go with everything Bioware does. Nevermind I don't defend everything in DAII. And as for soundtracks...except for the ME series, its not even Bioware's strong suit.[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="Sagem28"]That'll only happen when Dragon Age III comes out and he has to defend it. and yet I don't defend Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age Origins, or the failing aspects of Jade Empire or the first Mass Effect game...thats because I don't go with everything Bioware does. Yes, we know you don't like Dragon Age Origins (one of the few things Bioware actually did right).
Doesn't make you any less of a delusional biodrone, though.

I never understood the reason for so much love for DAO...... or how I actually spent whooping 60 hours playing it. One of the thing Bioware got right? Nevermind the cliched storyline that proves those that criticize Bioware for recycling its plots correct, the recycled character archtypes, the broken combat system far worse than FFXII, the game it rips off, and the lack of focus of the story and the characters lack of importance outside Allistair. And if DAIII goes back to cliche, I will call it out. I won't be defending that. In fact, the game it rips off for its gameplay was notable for breaking much of the FF cliche, while DAO sticks with Bioware cliche.[QUOTE="Sagem28"][QUOTE="texasgoldrush"] and yet I don't defend Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age Origins, or the failing aspects of Jade Empire or the first Mass Effect game...thats because I don't go with everything Bioware does. Christ, where do I even begin.
It rips off FFXII ? That's a new one. How did you ever come to this assumption ?
As for the characters, your acting like Mass Effect didn't do the exact same thing. None of the characters are important, accept maybe Liara with her massive plot armor.
Also, ancient space squids trying to destroy our galaxy isn't exactly the pinnacle of originality. Nevermind the shameless Deus Ex rip off in the ending.
