Well, it's an astonishingly good franchise, i only played Parasite Eve 2 as the first never saw a European release.

Would you like to see a return to this franchise?

Here is some video's.

It is a survival horror game, but not really like any others, well at least at the time it was made, the first has more RPG elements, and the second involves more resident evil style gameplay, but it is far from anything like resident evil.

This and shenmue are my top 2 games that i want them to return.

I've never played either of the first two games but I'd love a return to the old school survival horror and with RPG stuff thrown in it just sounds like my perfect game.

Unfortunately as we've seen with Resi and Silent Hill that genre has slowly died and doesn't look like reanimating any time soon. Sadly games like these just don't sell well and cost a lot to produce. Easier to just create a generic FPS that 10m people will but buy then take the time to make a great game.

@ AMD655

Thats Certainly unexpected. I'm more of a horror man.

yea it would be nice if it returned as a PS4 exclusive.

These games were never dead, other games came along and people (casuals) go all googly eyed for them, COD is a massive example this generation, Resident Evil changed from nerve hitting, carefully thought out gameplay, to a action fest.

Resident Evil 4 i enjoyed, but 5,6 are far removed from Resident Evil as survival horror games.

Some people cannot appreciate the camera angles, it was there to create suspense, in real life you have no control over view angles, you do not have eyes in the back of your head.

Sounds, when you heard something, you knew about it, and the camera angles ramped up the amplifier to 11. Resident Evil set a path of greatness, but sadly CAPCOM did away with what made the games so damn good.

@ withe1982

Survival Horror games are usually negative-sum games and RPGs are Positive-sum games with positive feedback loops (stat progression) they are literally polar opposites, mixing them would be a colossal disaster.

I'm watching porn. Not gonna stop for watching a Dino Crisis 3 review.

Appreciate it though.

What ! What about President Evil 4 was so Survival horror-ry . You do realise President Evil 5 was exactly like 4...... with co-op. And those camera angles of old sucked. Hard to be scared if your cursing everytime the angle changes, Maybe thats what Survival Horror is suppose to be like but saying its part of the genre doesn't suddenly make it good.

#18 Posted by TheGuardian03 (21420 posts) -

PE isn't horror it's an RPG, the second game is so difficult i was forced to use a guide, the final boss made me rage quit but i came back last year and beat the game.

Third Birthday is the third game in the series if you want to play it.

But it was good, also groundbreaking for the time.

Resident Evil 2 was the major success, 3 added some extremely cool stuff.

Why do you think RE1 was remade for GCN?

Tell me any games that bring suspense like this?

President Evil 4

This needs to be a real thing. I want to play it.

Its 2013 dudes. Lets move foward, not backwards, Now I don't know about survival but The Condenser Chapter in Beyond Two Souls a was fantastic horror experience, lol they even had the occasional horroble camera angles that you like so much.

Wish the whole game was like that.

#22 Posted by Lulu_Lulu (9724 posts) -

@ Slashkice

I'l get someone to "kickstart" it for ya..... ;)

#23 Posted by groowagon (2740 posts) -

i'd love to see it happen, but i'd be extremely cautious. my beloved franchises from PS1 days have been ruined one by one. Square Enix is not exactly on a roll right now.

Difficult as in puzzles or enemies ... because both were pretty damn hard .... the puzzles were blend in the environment that you can hardly recognize them and the enemies ... dun get me started.

But the game was fun as hell and there was a lot of replayability in it

I doubt archaic mix of Resi-tingled survival horror and even more redundant JRPG would be successful nowadays, unless it'd be in the vein of either new xcom or old Fallout but of course with a view more centered on character and more action oriented.

#26 Posted by jake44 (1928 posts) -

I'd love to see it return. Some of my favorite PS games.

#27 Edited by AmazonTreeBoa (16744 posts) -

Look at any thread asking what franchises I would like to see return and if I posted it in, you will see Parasite Eve as one of those on my list. I want to see a lot of older PS1 franchises return.

#28 Posted by groowagon (2740 posts) -

it doesn't mean it has to be a 1:1 copy of the original. the franchise can move forward. you know, like what Resident Evil did with RE4. like what Fallout did with Fallout 3 (different genre, but what a fine example).

#29 Posted by Lulu_Lulu (9724 posts) -

@ groowagon

Fallout 3 was a step foward !? :O Exactly just how broken were the 1st two games to make that trainwreck, fallout 3, seem good ?

yeah yeah Fallout 3 had it's share of bugs, but my point was that the original isometric and turn-based game was successfully updated to something else. bugs aside, it was a great game.

All Bethesda games do, but once you get passed the hurdles, they are really enjoyable games.

We're now waiting for a 4th game.

Yeah a game i missed, did not know about it, might be due to the title :/

#34 Posted by Lulu_Lulu (9724 posts) -

@ groowagon

Fallout, and many other RPGs, are not just technically flawed, most times the flaw is structural, in the game's initial design. People don't usually notice because their imagination compensates for these structural flaws, Role Playing is just an advanced form of Make Believe afterall.

It was fun! (but not that freaking 100 floor Chrysler building BS) I wouldn't mind to see a remake or a new chapter!

A remake would be excellent :)

only as a reboot since Toriyama already destroyed it with his awful writing trying to insert time travel and shit like he did with FF13. The guy's a menace to Square-Enix's franchises but the talent is lacking and Nomura can't do everything by himself.

I played the third birthday. It was fun. I'll get the rest on PSN soon enough.

#39 Posted by telefanatic (2861 posts) -

The games i want most to return to consoles, #1 Shenmue 3 (please for the love of god make the ending to this game, i dont care if its low budged or not #2 Dino Crisis proper sequel (the one in space sucked), #3 Parasite Eve proper sequel and not the portable games (psp game dont count it wasnt that good) and again i want Shenmue!!!

#40 Posted by Joedgabe (5092 posts) -

Would be great, however the games were too short. They would have to find ways to extend it and make it work.

#41 Posted by Animal-Mother (26318 posts) -

If it returned akin to the REmake than i'd be fine with it. Knowing SE however they'll fuck it up to holy hell.

#42 Posted by finalfantasy94 (26236 posts) -

There is the 3rd birthday. While the story is not good and confusing the gameplay is great.

I should give Parasite Eve 1 a go aswell, i was always interested but kept on forgetting due to backlog and other stuff. Seems like a very unique game, also common consensus from what i've read is that the first one is the best in the series.

#45 Edited by ni6htmare01 (888 posts) -

@Lucianu: It was a really good game at that time. Just don't bother with that Chrysler Building BS after you finish with the main story It was a repeat of the same crap for 100 floor!

#46 Posted by MlauTheDaft (3191 posts) -

I'd love for PE to return but I highly doubt it'd be PE anymore.

It's a great Pseudo-RPG. A lot of fun an interesting story and just overall a fun experience.

I loved PE2. Amazing game. An HD release would be gravy at the very least!

#49 Posted by OniLordAsmodeus (58 posts) -

Lol! Yes.

If the PS4's launch line up was PE, Rival Schools (or Bloddy Roar), Siphon Filter, or any other of the games of that ilk, Playstation would be on my buying radar and the games would justify the "PS4 wins this Gen" talk that is all around net.

Ohh my god yes. PE2 was freaking awesome. The level design was just absolutely great AND No.9 Making a come back?
