Blade Runner was one of the most inventive adventure games I've ever played. Its cleverness stemmed from the fact that people in the game were randomly assigned as replicants and the fact that there has been over a dozen of permutations of the game's endings.

Since Grim Fandango has been already remastered and Blade Runner is every bit as classic as GF, I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be remastered.

By the way, Gearbox has expressed its willingness to do something Blade Runner, what if the studio responsible for remastering was them?

Ha, I remember that game, I remember being pumped for it a long while before actually playing it. I remember being slightly disappointed but still liked it as I was a Blade Runner fan and they at least did a faithful job with the material.

I could see this being more something I'd get off GOG, not as a remake, just to play it as it was when it released. If anybody was going to go through any trouble with this license I'd rather them just make a brand new game with the license.

It's a Warner Bros owned movie. They're making that Mad Max movie and game, Monolith just made great use of the LOTR license for Shadow of Mordor. Maybe WBIE will start making use of their film licenses for games. Maybe someone will want to use the Blade Runner license on a future project if these movie-game ideas prove fruitful on their end.

I hear a sequel to the movie is in the works, that someone acquired a license to produce it. Though I also hear that about lots of things that never get green lit. But, if it actually turns out to amount to anything, and if it can be successful (that's already a lot of IF), maybe we can see an interest in developing a Blade Runner game, and by that extension maybe a remake of the original PC point and click adventure.

I was skimming through my old PC games the other day and Blade Runner was one of them. I still remember getting home from buying it and installing the 4 or 5 discs in anticipation. Very good game. I'd be all for a remake but don't see it ever happening.

I don't remember that movie, because I was under the influence of plants when I watched it.

I remember the ending sequence with the dude in the rain saying stuff.

Oh, and someone flying through glass.

I missed it the first time around, and regret it. It's one of my favourite films easily. I'd love a remaster or preferably remake of the game.

Game needs a GOG release since it won't run on any modern OS.

If you liked Snatcher, Rise of the Dragon and Heavy Rain you would love this game.

You should. It was brilliant.

It actually had very different endings depending on decisions you made in the game #FUMassEffect

The game came out 15 years after the film. It's not a typical tie in.

Sure, I'd buy it. I bought a boxed copy a few years ago, but could never get it to work properly.

Great movie, a little weird but all in all very cool. I never played the game though but always remember seeing it on sale back in the day. I would welcome a new game.

I'm not into remasters tbh, but if there was to be another 200 more remasters made this gen I would want Bladerunner in that list.

Would be cool, but i don't see that happening.

Weswood's dead, Virgin Interactive's dead.

I reckon it would be a tall order to find who owns the rights to it, let alone restore the original assets.

Oh...

Forget about that, a fan-made remake would be definitely possible.

Hell yes i loved that game, it had its fair share of flaws but not enough to detract from the game and its amazing atmosphere, plus it was made by WestWood so its automatically a winner. :P

Plus it was an oddity, using voxels for the characters in a point and click adventure game but it weirdly worked.
