Is 4GB DDR5 > 5GB DDR3, in practice?
I don't get the 3GB for the OS aswell! Maybe Xbox3 OS will allow ppl to jump between games, features like skype, internet browser, etc without loading times.

Yes. DDR5 is much much faster.
I know it's faster, just asking if it turns more efficient in practice? To give you an example, PS3's memory is also faster than 360's, but the fact 360 has slightly more memory available and uniffied one, proved to be better for games.
their isn't any split pools this time, so i dont see what would stop 4gb of faster ram to be more efficient.I find it funny how PC gamers are so quick to dismiss these specs. Games like Uncharted 3 and Gears of War 3 are running on hardware roughly 1/5th of the power. The biggest flaws people have said with this current gen was the lack of RAM, slow disk read speed, and outdated GPUs. The CPUs are actually still fine for games, it's everything else that's the problem.
If those specs are true the jump is going to be quite noticeable in terms of size and scale of games. Graphics will never see a massive leap again. We've kind of hit the point of diminishing returns for graphics on the PC and the consoles weren't that far behind the PC this entire generation.
Games like Planetside 2 and ArmA 2 could easily run on those rumored specs, and those are some of the largest, and most complex games the PC has to offer in terms of tech requirements.
With consoles you have a ton less overhead and their architectures are much more efficent. This allows them to get quite a bit more performance out of what seems to be a weak machine.

Going by these rumors Durango will be about 6x Xbox 360 and Orbis maybe 8x.
what video card is it rummored to have 6 series 7 series or whatmetal_zombieBy the looks of it, something between the 7770 and 7850 cards. The 7770 has about the same computing power, but with a higher clock and less compute units and stream processors than the card in the Durango. So the GPU in the Durango is probably a more power efficient card.
[QUOTE="Tessellation"][QUOTE="Blazerdt47"]These are 9 months old specs, for all we know they even changed them by now. Boy for some one who doesn't care about the 360 and that is a PC gamer you sure look worry... ""The proof presented by the source suggests that the data is at most nine months old: factoring in how long it takes to create a console, the chances are that there will not be many changes implemented since then."" From your own link 9 month the most it could be 3 or 5,but one thing Eurogamer say that you miss chances are not be many changes implemented, the only change the xbox 360 got was 256MB more of ram. We know how is the desperate one creating xbox 720 threads  are you that desperate for the ps4 to be more powerful? are you that desperate to make love to the ps4  ? your butthurt shows in every of your post crying lol.8 gigabyte (GB) of RAM DDR3 (68 GB/s)
I'll never understand why Microsoft decides to dedicate 3 Gigs of RAM for it's OS, that leaves 5 Gigs DDR3 left, compared to 4 Gigs of DDR5 RAM for PS4. That's a substantial lead.
tormentos

Some of my favorite games this gen have been on the Wii, and that's pretty much a glorified gamecube.

4GB DDR5 is significantly greater than 5GB DDR3.
Not only that but 3GB dedicated to just the OS is ridiculous. I sense heavy Windows 8 integration as well.
[QUOTE="ShadowMoses900"]How you'd know? Are you a professional about console hardware? Don't think so.If this is true then the next Xbox is not going to be very powerful. Hope this is false.
MonsieurX
It's basically just a leg up from the 360 specs.

But you are right, I'm not a professional and maybe the devs can do good things with it. I'm sure it will be able to do good looking games.

16x more ram is just a leg up from 360's specs?
Don't know what you're talking about. Xbox 360 hardware - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
And there is more to a system than RAM.

These specs show at least something around 6X the power of the 360. :|
YOu're talking about the guy who argued that Morrowind looked the same as skyrim and wondered why his integrated gpu couldnt handle pc games. It's a lost cause
