Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap has been kicking up headlines for a few weeks now as a surprising, beautiful remake of the cult-classic from 1989. Everyone who’s played it has said it’s something special.
Now that something special has been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo apparently met with the developers to bring the game to their newest platform, and they agreed. Aside from the PC, this is the first official confirmation for a specific console since the game’s announcement.
What about performance? Good news there, too!
In the post announcing the news on the game’s official page, DotEmu and Lizzardcube indicate that the game runs wonderfully on the Nintendo Switch.
The game plays fantastic on the Nintendo Switch! It runs at a smooth 60 FPS, the screen and colors in handheld mode are amazing, and it plays just as well in full HD when docked. We can’t wait to show you more!
Sounds good! Lizardcube and DotEmu are quick to indicate that they’re working on other platforms for the game, too, so stay tuned if you won’t own a Switch.
