Will you be buying the New Nintendo 3DS?

Unfortunately, 90% of the DS's quality came from third party games. Third party games, which are sorely lacking on 3DS.

Sure, but it's also made the 3DS inarguably the weakest Nintendo handheld since... ****, at least since the pre-GBA days.

Not interested. I'm perfectly happy with my Pikachu XL and Circle Pad Pro. The ZR and ZL button placement as well as the size of the second stick seem awkward. The only reason why I'd get this in the future is for the exclusive games but, to be honest, I'm hoping they will only be "enhanced" on the new systems and not purely exclusive. Admittedly, though this is great news and I like what I see and hear, I'm quite annoyed that they plan on making exclusive games just for them.

I can imagine this scenario taking place at a game store.

"Well, obviously I'd like a new one."

"Well, they're both not used."

"So why not say you have two New 3DS?"

"Because we just had someone buy one."

"A 3DS and a New 3DS."

"And they're both new?"

"So, you just said you had two New 3DS. And you sold one. And now you have two left?"

oh ya im getting both variants - the new 3ds and new 3ds xl , , why -- - my 3ds xl broke 2nd because i want to have the changable plates in the orange lime green and pink and lime green variants only the small model does that so ya

Yup I will. My nephew gets a neat previously loved 2DS and I get a new 3DS XL. Everybody wins. Spread the love people.

I'm definitely getting it. I want the XL version. It just looks awesome and I love the fact it'll have Amiibo support. Can't wait honestly. Hopefully the States gets a release date soon.

I have 2 3ds' s so at this point the answer would be no... but if the right trade in deal were to pop up I could be persuaded. I'm a sucker for a good trade in deal.

Yep. Xenoblade and other future exclusives are hard to pass.

based on what i know so far....no. the hardware itself is not enough of an upgrade (its in a weird place of being better than the current model...but not by enough to warrant the expense). its not interesting like the wii and not mind blowing. its like a 3DS 1.2 rather than a 3DS 2.

of course of some of the exclusive games really grab my interest then probably. i already have xenoblade though (and heartily recommend it. one of the greats) so thats not a selling point for me.

as it currently stands though no. i will stick with my current model for now.

Your saying they have updated the entire current UI and made it quicker, faster and simpler? like no more drawing to talk to friends? no more manual refresh just to receive a message? yeah i doubt it, i dont have much faith on Nintendo like you do so i'll believe it when i see it whenever it comes out.

I would like to, especially if they bring GBA VC games to the device. I was planning on getting a Wii U, but am honestly more attracted by this due to the improved 3D effect and the fact there it will likely receive better support than the Wii U in the coming years. While it might be disappointing to see Nintendo making "New 3DS exclusives" for the console, this stop-gap 3DS is necessary in this era of smartphones and shows that Nintendo is willing to do what it takes to make the console relevant.

@charizard1605: it seems like you're speaking in absolutes. Why don't we wait to see how they handle the current 3ds. I mean we still got pokemon, smash, bravely second and fantasy life and project steam coming

Yup.. But not an ll, will go for a regular sized edition. I was going to pick up a 2ds but i will be holding off for a new 'new 3ds'. Those buttons!

Have you ever used an old school laptop with a nub? Let alone IBM Think Pad laptops (Now Lenovo Think Pad). The nub works a lot like a mouse, and have better accuracy than a standard track pad.

No. I've barely played my 3DS since I got it on launch day (UK). About 200 hours total.

More than likely if it is indeed as good of an improvement as it sounds. I am overall not completely happy with the 3DS game library, and I hope it picks up quality wise to make my upgrading worth the investment. Great games, yes, but not enough in my opinion for the length of time the system has been out. I use my 3DS regularly.
