Will Wii U reach its goal of 9 million units by end of March?

I really want the best for Nintendo, despite not liking it´s hardware philosophy, but that goal is wishful thinking.

They will be lucky to reach 5 million. You have the ps3/360 and soon the ps4/x720 vs the wii u with no 3rd party support.

It would be a stretch, my wager - they won't achieve it.

Only if Mario Kart 8 comes out before then.

Is that their goal for March 2020?

Considering it took them a year to sell 3.9million units.

To expect them to sell over 5million units in 4 months, not a chance.

I think they can make it to 5-6 million total sales by March 2014. You guys need to remember, when the parents cant find the sold out PS3/360/PS4/Xbones, they will be forced to buy a wii u for their kids so it will do decent over the holidays. Its the last choice on anyones list, but if there is nothing else....

Granted if I had a kid, I wouldn't be that cruel to buy them a Wii U. I would get them anything else even if it costed twice as much.

But yeah, 9 million is LMAO.

If I was a kid this holiday season and I got a Wii U, I'd be pissed!

Most kids care about Mario and stuff, they don't care for Killzone or Forza :/

I dont think it will and think this holiday is going to be very weak for the console.

Most kids care about call of duty, gta and halo. What world do you live in? The only people that buy nintendo consoles are 40 year old nintendo fanboys that live with their parents.

Nope. I'm hoping they get some momentum though which is what they really need. The rate of selling they are getting right now is not satisfactory, so they need to strive for a more stable selling environment.

This holiday season will make it or break it. Right now it looks hard to reach.

Even if it was priced at $99 it still wouldn't sell 9 million by March. This is going to sell worse than the Gamecube did.

Doesn't the console have to sell near 12 million by March 2014 for that goal to be reach. Sadly that goal won't be reached, but you never know what will happen in the next 5-7 months.

It's overly optimistic thinking at best. If NIntendo were the only company with a console this holiday, it would definitely be possible. They've done such a terrible job marketing the system this year that 9 million looks totally out of reach.

Even if they manage to exceed 3mil+, hell no.

They'll be lucky to hit 6 million, really.

No it wouldn't. There isn't a game out that could push that number of consoles. Look, Gamecube dropped to $99 and I bet it didn't sell an extra 9 million units after the fact.
