Digital distribution, assuming most countries move to upgrade there bandwidth coakroach
I'd still rather buy a hard retail copy than download a game.
But if there is HVD is next in line.jakaraiI doubt we'll be seeing multi-terabyte games in our lifetime.

It's a matter of market. With the huge amount of piracy going on with movies and games, it's only natural that the next step will be digital distribution rather than a hard copy. In time people like you will be neglected in favour of the people that just don't give a damn. Not in the realm of optical media because, quite frankly, its a physical impossibility. If I were microsoft I would be using HD-DVDs next gen though.TheGrat1What sense does it make to use a dead format? By next generation Blu Ray will be dirt cheap. Hell it only costs Sony $8 for the Blu Ray diodes now.
All of you guys are saying Digital Distribution will be big next-gen, but how? Connection speeds still aren't that great (I'm just fine with my 1.5 Mbps connection) and how many games do you think you'll be able to fit on the Hard Drive? Unless it's a 250-500GB Hard Drive in every console, it'll fill up VERY quicklychoffyLOL who wants games you can't sell if you get tired of them or they are terrible. I will never pay $60 for a game I can't get rid of if I decided to.
Blu-ray won't be replaced until we hit 2160p or the next Standard resolution
2160p will be to much for Blu-ray maybe
go 2160p Holographic discs with terabyte storage:D

You can buy 1TB HDD for $100. By the time the next gen of consoles are released, they will be less than $50. So DD is feasable. Also, a 1X download is something most users will not frete about, especially if they allow active downloads whilst playing. Faster internet speeds to households, by that time, will have also increased. Couple that with the factthat DD is much more profitable for the console makers and publishers and there is no reason why the next generation of consoles wont go DD
