Probable, the library is so big that it will live on for years. Hell SNES is still big on e-bay so I see PS2 will live on.

But will the third parties continue to make new games for it? Will the Playstation 2 get ports of future releases? Look at the Master System...

These games came well into the Genesis' reign in the US...

It will live on in people's homes, much like you can still find gamers with NESs hooked up. Old good systems don't die, they just move to the side in the entertainment center of life.

Nike_Air

It sold more than 360 and PS3 .... I give it another year of good steady strong sales.

The Gamegear may of helped a bit there for the Master System.  As they both use the same hardware, it would be simple to port them for SMS.

The PS2 has several new games still being released.  It is far from dead.

I can't believe every 3rd party is going to ignore a system that has sold over 32 million just yet. I say the PS2  will get new games at least till 2008. roulettethedog
Madden 2005 came out on PSX. I would guess that the PS2 will live on to 2010 or 2011. Especially because of the Wii and PSP.

PS2 has vanished it's competition to the depths of hades.
