And if not, when do you think it will release?

I dont think so. Not much news surrounding the game, and I'd rather have it in Spring when there's a slight lull in games.
Put it out during Christmas and you risk getting lost in the shuffle unless you're COD and this game certainly isn't. It's a popular franchise for sure, but you're asking games to consider it a day 1 purchase with so many other games come out for the holiday dollar.
The thing is, Persona is niche and has a very fierce and devoted following that will purchase it no matter what. It can come out at any time of the year, and it will still sell roughly the same number of units, consistently.
Now, if Atlus and Sega are actually aiming for audience expansion with this game, then maybe December is a bad idea, but I don't know if that's a battle they want to try to fight in the first place.
That's true, but for me, who isn't a hardcore Persona fan, I would really have to weigh its day 1 purchase against other holiday games I may want.
@Heil68: Yep, you're the expanded audience haha.
Persona 5 isn't expanding any audience as it's extremely niche and full of weeaboo themes
@FireEmblem_Man: Actually, beyond superficial appearances, it is not.
Not to the eyes beyond the niche ;)

What the heck is a "weeaboo theme"?
This is fucking rich coming from a Fire Emblem fan

Fire Emblem is more manly than Persona :P
/sarcasm
I don't think it'll hit the US by the end of the year, and I definitely don't think it'll hit Europe in 2015.
Meanwhile, I just hope that Persona 5 has interesting dungeons and decent story pacing.
P4G's worst sections involved trudging through generic, repetitive labyrinths; and the story got really stale by the second/third/fourth fake-out ending.
Weeaboo isn't a derogatory term, jeez. Same with dudebro.
It was, in fact, created to be derogatory.
It's just that people nowadays use it out of context a lot; "weeaboo themes" don't exist.
@Legend002: It was created to mock someone who is obsessed with all things Japanese and curses his non-Japanese heritage. Not to insult someone that plays some kind of games.
@Legend002: Infamous 4chan.
It had nothing to do with gaming actually.
Most people that misuse the term still use it as a negative btw. Which is pretty stupid.
@Legend002: As I said before: It was created to mock someone who is obsessed with all things Japanese and curses his non-Japanese heritage. Now look at FireEmblem_Man post. That's misusing it while still being derogatory.

I feel the need/want to get a Vita just to play P4. I went to BB and was about ready to pull trigger. With memory card it was $250...I left.I keep getting the "free" PSN+ games for it so I have a decent library with nothing to play the games on...lol

Honestly, if P4G is all you want it for, then you might as well just buy a Vita TV for less than half the price and play it on that.
Also, Persona 4 (not Golden, the vanilla one, but Persona 4 nonetheless) is available on PSN on PS3 for $10, if you're interested in going that route.
