Will next Resident Evil become X1 exclusive at e3?

No, Resident Evil 6, despite peoples love of ripping on it still managed to sell 5 million, Resident Evil 5, which was the debut 7th gen RE game sold about 8 million, in order for MS to buy out exclusivity they'll have to provide Capcom with expected revenues that the game would make on other platforms and probably a little more... MS has money, they could afford that if they wanted to, but they can probably get more content for their console by investing in other IPs.

Capcom really isn't in the position to make Exclusive calls for this gen.

Dead Rising 3 being X1 exclusive was pretty surprising.

The Long term Repercussions for doing that is bad for Capcom.

No matter how much money Microsoft throws at them..... Exclusivity limits the number of people that can play the damn thing and when Microsoft eventually drops their Asses then they would be left to fend for themselves again except the difference is now the other platforms will have moved on and out grown them. Playstation has lost any Sleep over Dead Rising 3 and when capcom decides to go Multiplatform with Dead Rising 4 they'l be in for a rude awakening.

Apart of me says lolno but then again if it is I wouldn't care anyway since Resi 6 was pure 100% unadulterated garbage. Evil Within will satisfy my resi needs and probably be 100% the better game too.

Deep Down is a ps4 exclusive Dead Rising 3 is a X1 exclusive so Resident Evil 7 being a exclusive wouldn't shock me. Capcom hasn't announced a single multiplatform game the 8th gen to my knowledge. anyway Resident Evil still sales millions of units so for it to be a exclusive MS would probably need to wright a juicy cheek

Capcom would be essentially killing the IP for a quick payday. RE is big in Japan and Xflop has no chance there. And it sells more in PlayStation every where else. I would be pissed and I would not buy a Xflop to play it. I would also not buy any future Capcom games. Dead Rising was meh because no one cares about that IP, but RE still has tons of fans regardless of the whining you see on few message boards.

Deep Down and Dead Rising are games that are not made with Sony and Microsoft helping fund and develop them. Resident Evil is Capcom's best selling IP that sold around 6 million copies despite the negativity surrounding it. They would be foolish to make it exclusive to the losing console. They tried that once with Gamecube....

We've had rumors of RE7 being X1 exclusive and PS4 exclusive. Frankly, I don't see it happening for either system as an exclusive or even timed exclusive. Perhaps timed exclusive DLC but not the entire game.

If MS dunks it's coin purse in Capcom's face and this ends up being X1 exclusive, then RE6 was truly the last in the series that I'll play. A shame considering I've bought every RE game available on a PlayStation day one.

That would be a dumb move in my eyes, because that would annoy a lot of PS4 owners & most of which would lose interest in the series for good. We're already on the fence leaning towards not caring about the series anymore.

Precisely. Of course, we have seen companies become shortsighted when faced with the choice between a quick buck versus long term consumer loyalty before. Bethesda comes to mind between delaying DLC for months on PS3... not to mention the whole Skyrim debacle, which is why the Fallout 4 exclusive rumor has just enough bite to make it impossible to dismiss.

Doubt it Capcom loves money and Resident Evil is one of their best selling series I doubt they would cut out a platform. Although it may be possible if the PS3 version of RE6 didn't sell that well, as I'm sure RE7 would still come to PC anyway, and with the exclusive Dead Rising 3 I guess anything is possible.

Honestly, Ryse is probably a better IP than Resident Evil is these days.

That is actually also a good reason to make it exclusive. Being exclusive alone would fuel the fan base for having something just for their console even though the previous title wasn't looked on in a positive light by fans. Being that xbone is starving for exclusives, it would be treated like a high profile title getting more exposure than if it was just multiplatform.

Look at Titanfall, even though it was a multiplat, being that it was marketed like a bone exclusive most people who owned the console jumped at it. Also, if MS completely eats the cost of producing the game Capcom would go in with nothing to loose and still get profits for the franchise name and other royalties.

The install base of the PS4 is going to force pubs to charge MS a premium for exclusives. Possibly but very unlikely.

I would say it's possible, but I'm not sure that it would help Capcom. Lots of people have taken a shit on Resident Evil's name, and don't care anymore. Also, Re6 still moved like 5 million units, which sucks, because that's a good sales number. I wish it flopped so Capcom would see the error in their ways and make a good game. Also, Capcom has had shitty luck with Resident Evil exclusivity in the past. Remember when the REmake and RE4 were gamecube only? What a fucking mistake. I remember reading an interview where Mikami said the sales were so bad, he was scarred for life.

Smartest thing to do is for them to make it for all 3 consoles & PC & to make it like the RE in the early years. This maximizes sales & puts out another quality RE, which would regain gamer's trust in the series.
