Contrary to popular opinion, there are plenty of good games on mobile. The majority though will still be bad. Nothing will change just because another iPhone gets released. IPhone 6 doesn't look like anything special to me...
No - touch/mobile can't support certain games because of its innate structure. It lacks the ability to accommodate for the inputs consumers/developers require and doesn't support the most cutting-edge technologies due to minimized form factor. If it interfaced with a stationary hub that thereby allowed it to enhance its performance, then there might be a possibility it could have an impact.
@Desmonic: Yup, tablets/phones are also great for adventure games. iOS has the definitive version of Ace Attorney 5, for example. (and ironically the cheapest version, too)
"Will iPhone 6 make mobile gaming more legit?" my answer would be no.
but i see there's a moba coming to ios called vainglory. that might get very popular.
More legit? Yeah maybe, but the biggest issue has always been the controls.
Also, MOBAs on mobile? Wow.
The iPhone 6 is likely already technically outclassed by currently available Android phones and will be stomped into the ground by phones coming early next year (Samsung Galaxy Note 4).
That said, mobile gaming is a joke. It could have amounted to something serious had the developers that got involved in it's rise to glory made serious games instead of cash cows and pay-to-win scenarios.
@foxhound_fox: think you're right there. The iPhone 6 is severely underpowered for a flagship iteration, I think the z3 and note 4 will smash it to pieces.
I'm not sure about your latter statement though, personally I don't think mobile gaming could have ever amounted to much without the correct control methods being natively available.
Nope.
It's not about the visuals. Hell, it's not even completely about the touch controls.
It's about the shitty state the actual games are in, and the race to the bottom environment Apple helped create that pushes away customers from spending any money on a game and developers from doing something that can't push microtransactions.
That said, can't wait to get mine.
Who the hell plays graphics intensive games on their phones... I just use my phone for browsing the net when I'm away from the computer, angry birds was funny for 5 mins and the novelty value has warn off.
I don't get why people want the most powerful phones, well not at that price anyway. I'd rather by a £100 smart phone and a whole load of Kitkats.
No. Mobile seems to become less and less legit these days, at least for core gamers. The whole market is heading towards F2P and it doesn't look like this trend can be stoped.
iPhone 6 hardware specs are still rather underwhelming. SoC with dual-core CPU and 1 GB of RAM. Android flagships are way ahead.
i still believe 3DS & PS Vita are the best option for mobile gaming !!
I own the iPhone 5s & Samsung Galaxy S4 and the only gaming i do on my phones is while I'm using the loo :)

Out of curiosity, what games do you play on your phone(s)? I can't find anything good lately :-/
There's two distinct crowds of gamers, I've realized. There's people that play phone games and people that don't 99 percent of the time. The people that do play them don't care about what people generally do on this forum. It is a different generation. Makes me wonder what the average age is here...
I will be getting the iPhone 6, however, I do not game on my phone due to battery life. I need my phone for more useful things like meeting invites, communicating with others (talk/text), battery life for emergency situations, etc.
Plus as far as I can tell, people that normally play games on their phones are casual gamers that don't want to pay for anything. Doubt mobile gaming ever gets big IMO.
