Will any FPS be able to top Cold War this gen?

From the action packed blockbuster movie quality campaign to the fast paced and addictive zombies co-op to the highly competitive skill based MP with excellent map design Cold War is the best all around FPS to come along in awhile.

Can anything coming out in the near future one up it? We don't see many total package shooters these days. Most are either MP only or SP only. Or have terrible SP and equally terrible MP like Halo 5.

come on. any FPS can top cold war ala a movie game. infact COD are sony equivalent of FPS.

Doom and Doom Eternal (with Ancient Gods 1/2) totally destroy it.

Cold War campaign was good, and it was cool that daddy Activision let Raven out of the dungeon to make a game again.

How can you my friend still impressed with COD campaign??

Most games I play are better than CoD.

IMO the only thing CoD has going for it is its overblown, bloated budget; it certainly shows in many areas, as it is downright impressive to watch.

But to play? Meh.

And that's just the singleplayer. Ugh, don't get me started on the multiplayer; I feel like the only reason to play is to unlock shit, not to have what I would call a really pure sense of fun. If there were no unlocks, no skins, no nothing....if the guns you got when you bought the game day 1 were the only guns you got forever, would anyone play it?

I love Modern Warfare and Cold War for different reasons. But yea, the last couple years of Call of Duty have been great.

Gotta admit, after being on SW for so long, watching Cows now gushing over Call of Duty is.........well......different, to say the least.

Cows utterly despised that franchise with every fiber of their being in the 360 days. You guys are such frauds, LMAO 🤣

Halo: Infinite would be my pick. As much as I enjoy the Call of Duty games and find them to generally be a really good all around package for single player and multiplayer I do still prefer the Halo games over it.

I still haven't finished it yet myself. Wanna get through campaign and onto zombies. Been weeks... months. I liked the last MW reboot better.

Says the Forza/Ass Creed/Minecraft fanboy lol. You would get bodied by true competitive gamers in Cold War MP.

Only played Modern Warfare but enjoyed that game.

So playing Minecraft Dungeons with my son makes me a Minecraft fanboy, good to know, hopefully one day you will experience what its like to bring joy to others.

You play CoD, RDR2, GTA V, and Sony's first party movies, so you're as casual as they come there Nathan Drake 🤣🤣🤣

And if you play it with two others you become a double star Minecraft fanboy. I thought everyone knew this.

Been pretty when it comes to AAA shooters.

The smaller games on Steam, mainly Doom/Hexen inspired etc.. yea, probably take any of those over COD.

Agree with OP: Such a great tittle.

I don't see anything that could be better this year. But I have a low access for now. I say that normally, players get used and find better within several months.

I wish that Raven can make other games again instead of working on COD. I mean they use to make awesome games such as Heretic and Soldier Of Fortune 1 and 2. Plus they made some amazing Star Trek and Star Wars games as well.

Cold War was a huge step down from Modern Warfare... nowhere near as fun, tactical, worse game modes, less players, worse movement, worse gunplay, slower, clunkier, etc. I hope they realize that and push more of MW and less of it in the future.

Hopefully, it was short as shit. Time to wait for next generation when I buy the next CoD again.

I tried BR on MW and it’s a lot of fun,how’s CW BR holding up? Sorry I’m kind of lacking info on Call of Duty’s mp this current generation of consoles?

Far Cry is pretty much my favorite shooter these days so I'm definitely looking forward to FC6 when it gets released later this year.

If you don't need the hyper realistic graphics that COD offers, I suggest you check out:

• Maximum Action (Max Payne)
• Ion Fury (Duke Nukem)
• Wrath: Aeon of Ruin (Quake/Doom)
• Graven (Hexen)

Some of these losses in the game industry I will never get over. Raven was such a good, always making great use of ID engines and they produced hit after hit.

I'd like more than Cold War's campaign, but at least I'm happy they get to do more than create DLC or do the porting for other studios' COD games. It ain't much, but it's something :)

I'd take Far Cry and then Titanfall as the best FPS.

Far Cry 5 is FAR (pun intended) better than any other FPS. And being the sucker I am for the Far Cry series, I'll bet that Far Cry 6 will knock our socks off.

@Pedro: Come on Pedro. I usually like your comments, but you can do better than this. My daughter is also addicted to Minecraft, but when she is asleep, I start smashing zombie heads with a shovel in Dead Rising 4. Do I get a badge too?

Deathloop will bridge MP and SP into one excellent formula... and will be the new FPS king.

Cold War will be hard to beat but I’m sure there will be some good competition this gen. I would hope the FPS games only get better.

Black ops is trash. MW is the future.

Cold war has a good amount of content now, excellent zombies and warzone map soon.

"Movie quality campaign" XD How very Playstation.

Certainly won't be much better on Playstation anyway. But Xbox has Halo, Perfect Dark and the Bethesda FPS games.
