Wii-U isn't a bad system

It just doesn't have an identity. Nintendo made a lot of money with the gimmick console know as the Wii. It was cheap, everyone could literally play it. It had great exclusive games with rich history such as of course Mario.

Obviously they needed a new system because the Wii was starting to lose money, game sales started to plummet and they needed to get updated hardware if 3rd party developers were gonna publish games for the Wii. So they decide to move Nintendo in a new direction. But they are swimming in uncharted waters as flying blindly. They wanted to target hardcore gamers while keeping it casual for the Wii gamers. The problem was, they mixed everything that was terrible for hardcore and casual players alike and said "BUY NOW".

Hardcore gamers don't want gimmicks. They want a comfortable controller and unmatched gameplay. They don't want to wave around and swing shit all over and hold a iPad up to the screen for extras. We want fast paced action. Do we like Zelda and Mario? Hell yes we do. But start catering to the hardcore fans that made Nintendo what it is today instead of the spoiled 6 year olds and residents of nursing homes. If the Wii-U wants to survive, they need to separate the stupid motion and tablet integration to the real gameplay.

@pinkforhire: How about just unsatisfied customers from the Wii ? a lot of people believe it or not give new things a chance to see if it's the new fad or not. They Wii had it's chance and quite honestly blew it with a lot of us with sheer disappointment on it's game departments with lack of interesting games to play and even less variety of higher budget games, and the Wii U is being the same as the Wii.. so it is Wii 2.

The System is irrelavant, computers allready proved that.

the ui is a complete joke its very very slow! the games are rubbish!

and the store full of is over priced utter crap!!!

sorry guys..WiiU is a failure. Didnt sell well. Wasnt marketed right. MOST people just thought it was a Wii with a different controller. NIN screwed up. THIS will be their last console.

so how long do you think they can hold on? they arent selling.everyone "for the most part" dont like it. NIN will always have a part in gaming..BUT consoles are over for them. They cant get it right. GC had it bad enough..and since the Wii its been a struggle despite the good early sales.As far as keeping up,..they are not.

Wii = $$$$$$$$ = Nintendo good.

Do you keep forgetting that their last system, especially the Wii still made them a profit? They aren't going to quit consoles because Wii U isn't doing so hot or "can't get it right". Saying it's going to be their last console, which happens EVERY CONSOLE they've released (even the well loved SNES had this), is an old and tired saying that needs to be put down.

The Wii U's biggest problem is its gaming library (lack of SSB and Mario Kart) and how it competes with the 3DS regarding Nintendo licensed games. Also Nintendo needs to seriously revamp their Virtual Console lineup

Nothing wrong with the hardware, Nintendo has proven it doesn't need top of the line hardware to make great games.
