Market Expectations for Q3 were as followed:

EARNINGS FORECAST: Nintendo is expected to report a net profit of ¥35.52 billion ($301.67 million) for the three months ended December, according to a poll of six analysts surveyed by financial data provider Quick. A year earlier, it reported a net profit of ¥9.6 billion.

REVENUE FORECAST: Revenue is expected fall to ¥275.54 billion from ¥302.5 billion a year earlier.

Operating Income: 31.40¥ billion yen

Well deserved success after a year of amazing games!

Smash WiiU is already somewhat close to mario kart 8's ltd. I wonder if it will overtake that game eventually.

Combined, Smash 4 is already the fastest selling game in the series.

Nice Super Smash Bros. sales. I just know that Nintendo will be in the black for the second straight time.

I think ORAS reached 9 million just as fast as HGSS. That's really impressive for such a disappointing game.

That game is probably going to sell slightly better than brawl combined at the end of this gen(because of the WiiU poor performance sadly)which is awesome.

Eh, it's not really that close considering the total install base. They both had one Christmas period, so I think the current sales are going to reflect what it will be in the long run, or if anything, MK8 will lengthen the gap.

I also want this chance to point out that Mario Kart 8's attach ratio is over 50%.

thats pretty good...but was hoping 3DS would have beat xbox one which sold 6 million....oh wait...maybe it did...xbox numbers were combined.

as for sony they are so hacked out of their fucking ass they cant even release a statemnt without being scared.

3DS install base is already more than all consoles plus Vita combined, what more do you want?

As for Sony's statement, they will release it when they scheduled it. Companies schedule these things, they don't do it according to the whims of fanboys on gaming forums.

It should be at about a 52% attach rate by now.And I would not be surprised if the final LTD of the game was over 7 million at the rate Mario Kart 8 is selling.

goodjob! Don't exactly like the hardware for the 3ds or wiiU that much, for control/touchscreen reasons in select games and execution of what the pad is doing during a game. I love when it turns off during DK:Tropical Freeze if I'm using the pro controller.

But..

The software is amazing! haven't been impressed with Nintendo games that much since the snes and n64.

Well, 3DS is dominating the handheld department.... But that doesn't have anything to do with your original post... But by all means, ignore those threads if you want. There are some threads that I ignore.

So why bring up Wii U being in last place? All Sheep accept this and acknowledge the Wii U as a failure. It seems Cows and Lems are the ones who can't let it go. Sheep are just happy that Nintendo is doing well despite its bad decisions.

XB1 is estimated to be at 10-11 million sold, based on the ~12 million shipped. These are of course estimates, so take it with a grain of salt. Unless MS or someone with the numbers spills the beans we can't do much better than this.

What we do know is that besides the UK, the Wii U does better in Europe & Japan than the XB1 (not by huge margins though). So, assuming they manage to do better in NA it's possible the 2nd place fight won't be as one-sided as we imagined not that long ago.

In terms of shipments, no. The problem is Microsoft does not report sales, so there's no real way of knowing anymore.

What exactly is the point of this post?

Just a heads up, we have no '11-12 million shipped' number for Xbox One. The last update Microsoft gave was 'nearly 10 million shipped worldwide' back in late October, I think, which means it is safe to assume that it has safely crossed shipments of 10 million cumulatively. However, we have had no update since then, and Microsoft does not report individual model breakdowns in its sales reports any more, so we don't know anything beyond that.

And its release was Nov 21st.... whoa.

Those Wii U sales are still pretty sad. I doubt it will crack Gamecube numbers by the end of its cycle. At least they're not taking a hit with the console anymore. The software sales are damn impressive, though. I'm particularly struck by Pokemon ORAS, which is a remake. I didn't think it would take off like that.
