Can someone please explain to me why Nintendo has not developed an achievement system yet? Ok so it's not a big thing but it is defiantly a disadvantage to the Wii. I have all three consoles and honestly when it comes to a multiplats the only real question I ask myself is do I want the trophies or achievement points more. Does anyone else think that the lack of achievements on the Wii is a big disadvantage? Is Nintendo ever going to address that problem?

Probably because Nintendo don't see them as being important, or useless to implement this late in the gen.

Hopefully they do this for the Wii 2, as I do like me some achievements.

You wont see achievements until the Wii successor. They are planning them on the 3DS.

I don't think Achievements are what is holding the Wii back it is Friendcodes.

Although their are some Wii games that have Achievements like SSBB, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Beatles Rock Band. That I know of their might be more.

We can't answer why...it is what it is.

It would be nice, but it would be hell to implement at this stage...better to do so next gen at this point.

While many people, including myself, enjoy getting achievements, they aren't vital to the gaming experience. I'd be interested to see a poll on how many people care or don't care about achievements. That will show you how necessary they are on the Wii/2.

I never really saw the point of achievements. I'll play a game that has enough interesting content by itself to keep me hooked for a long time over one that tries to stretch its lifespan by making me perform arbitrary tasks and chores that serve no purpose.

It doesn't matter to me. I don't need a score to tell me how much time I've wasted doing random tasks.

Maybe because they didn't predict that people would actually be swayed in their decision of a multiplat based on achievements and not quality. :P

Because achievements won't convince anyone to buy the system. Why would they if its going to do nothing to better their position?

Ninty will implement them in their next system and possibly for 3DS as well. They weren't interested in putting them on the Wiiearly onand it's just pointless to try and add them at this point.

It is because Nintendo is original & innovative they are not ripoff whores like SONY that ripped off achievement as trophy. Nintendo doesn't need achievement they're leading both in hardware & software sales because of their originality.
