I'm surprised to see people saying they bought Xbox One for exclusives.

I find it interesting that only the PS4 doesn't have "Fun Factor" in it's determining factors of purchase....and yet it does have "Blu-Ray Player" as a determining factor.

@Zen_Light: It's more surprising processing power was on the xbox ones list. Thing has a hard enough time dealing with it's snap feature let alone having anything half decent under the hood.

The WiiU is mainly being bought by the dedicated gaming crowd, and they are more likely to have had multiple consoles last gen.

It's got a more powerful CPU than the PlayStation 4 with more cores available to be readily used, this is not exactly rocket science.

I can get a lot of PS4 owners owning a Wii because it's cheap, but... wow. Guess a lot of PS3 owners really haven't jumped ship to PS4 yet. Can't blame 'em.

@nyadc: A CPU is just a single cog in the over all machine, and it doesn't pull that box into any position to be touted as having a great processor. Doesn't even matter if it's got a slightly beefier CPU then the PS4. Both are nothing special and tablets are currently available that play at the same and sometimes slightly above what is possible with the hardware at least in the xbox one. So again it's surprising processing power was even on the list. Though that could just be an indication of how ignorant most people are in relation to technology and what's available in the current market place.

And? It being the same CPU does not negate that the Xbox One has a more powerful CPU, also it's clocked 150Mhz higher.

They're listing processing power in relation to consoles, as the Xbox One has the most capable processor out of the group and ways to showcase it, it makes sense that it was listed.

@nyadc: I wouldn't assume processing power was limited to simply the CPU section of the dye. I'd assume it encompasses the consoles full ability with both the CPU and GPU aspects rolled into one like everything else does when talking about processing power. Both aren't anything to gloat about, so I still don't understand why anyone would tout it as a main reason when it isn't impressive even in the slightest in it's over all processing power.

It may be a slighter faster CPU with a bit more capability over the ps4, but it's bogged down by the systems UI and operating system so much so that that extra power is irrelevant in most cases. Hell I've been on one and it has a hard time even dealing with it's UI at any decent speeds. That's not even getting into how much weaker it is in comparison with it's GPU to the ps4. But that machine isn't impressive either so i think this whole idea of people buying into it for processing power is people have zero clue about hardware and what's available now and think these machines are the tits. When in actuality they are rather behind in tech and their ability making them rather unimpressive.

Ahem, not surprising at all since Xbox has the #1 FPS, TPS & Racer exclusive franchises on consoles and those genres happen to be among the most popular on consoles to boot.... Halo Gears, Forza... Just sayin. :P

@R3FURBISHED: PS3 reigns as one of the best bluray players you can buy. It stand to reason the ps4 would be a good upgrade. Though I have heard fantastic things about panasonics mid-high end bluray players.

Why are exclusives so big a deal in SW? It's okay to buy a console to game on and not make it be about exclusives. Third party games are games too....

Exclusives are a big deal to gamers like us. Who believe we know the most, are right about every thing, cant imagine others don't give a **** about it. Been saying it over and over. In the consumer world, exclusives aren't any where near important.

I own all systems because I am a gamer and want the opportunity to play anything and everything that interests me

It has the same CPU 170mhz faster which barely amount to anything and both have 2 cores lock for OS,part of a 7 core was recently release and involve dropping Kinect voice recognition in game which no developer hasn't use yet.

So CPU isn't the reason for faster processing and an option,maybe the answer was faster processing over the xbox 360.

Brand (nostalgia) New features (gimmick) Kinect and cable box are gimmicks so much that it sparked a Kinectless sku because people were not buying into the xbox one..

PS4 for games library in number 3 is quite shocking since lemmings claim the xbox one has better games,yet on the xbox one side it is the 4 reason to get an XBO.

Not surprising, it tells us what we already knew, cows are graphics whores and PS4 has no games.

Since when does new features become gimmicks. All companies try new features from MS Kinect to Sony's Move to Nintendo's WiiMote. It's always good to see them try new things and if they work great, if they don't you scrap it.

that is is no way true at all. A complete fallacy. Tablet's don't even have the space for such big CPU and GPU unless you gonna use it as a frying pan or portable stove. There aren't even any Apu's with more than 4 cores in the market right now.

Nintendo copied using CD's from Sony.

They also copied the dual stick and 4 shoulder buttons set-up.

They copied putting integrated wi-fi,

using a blu-ray equivalent on the Wii U,

they copied using HDMI,

they copied the PsP's remote play idea with the Wii U tablet,

they copied using blue-tooth on controllers.

The $40 XBL hasn't been confirmed to be a permanent drop as of yet though. But thanks M$ for those online fees and DLC that started with the excuse that the content didn't fit in DVD9.

I plan on owning every system, and that's because I don't want to miss out on any of the exclusives on each one.

Anyhow, found it kind of funny MS eats shit for being called a media center yet it's PS4's #2 reason for picking it up is as a Blu-ray player.

So PS4s get bought for the hardware, WiiU's get bought for the fun, XBox's get bought by fanboys wooed by the Word "XBox".

this is interesting, I wonder if Xbox Live also counts as the "brand" for xbox one. I chose xbox one for the exclusives but having xbox live was also high up on my list of reasons to get it.
