Why haven't you played Xenoblade Chronicles?

Arguably the best JRPG of last gen[my favorite is Dark Souls though(inb4darksoulsisnotajrpg)]. The game contains tons of quests, an amazing storyline and lore, huge maps and lots of areas, 100+ hours of playtime without doing the side quests plus New Game +, and a great combat system. And while the characters models and textures are ugly, the beautiful environments make up for that.

It's a must-try for any JRPG fan. So, why haven't you played it? Are you looking forward to its spiritual successor?

Lol, I remember some people begging this and The Last Story to be ported to the PS3.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game and you're right about the environments looking great but it could just benefit so much from that extra lick of paint other consoles offer, but I do recommend to every RPG fan to play :D

Mostly Japanese folk if I remember correctly.

One even went as far as to buy the game just post a video of them cutting the entire game into pieces.

I played about 2 hours of it and meh. It was really ugly and Im not into console JRPGs to begin with.

I would enjoy this game on the Vita, it fits the system perfectly

It's a decent game, but really nothing to get overly excited over. There are simply too many quests, with the majority being annoying fetch quest scenarios. Also the UI is kind of a drag. At the midpoint and beyond, the story kind of begins to fizzle, with an ending that is really kind of meh.

Then he should get a WiiU and a Copy of Xenoblade and play though the Gamepad. Though he would also have to get a Wiimote and C.Controller to play it.

I loved Xenobalde Chronicles, and X is currently my most anticipated Wii U game.

I prefer turn based combat than real time in games like these, the art style is pretty epic though.

I have played it and, my sentiments, like your's, is that it's only second to Dark Souls.

Pretty much this. Fewer, better sidequests would have done the game great favors and I can't help but wish it were on better more powerful platforms.

The quests really aren't a chore. Everytime you reach a new area, talk to everyone in town to activate all the new quests because most are collectathons, all you need to do is naturally progress through the game killing enemies and you will complete most of the quests. The quest system is great because once you get all the items asked for you usually don't even need to return to the quest giver to get the reward. I completed about 300 quests while just playing through the main game, not trying to go out of my way to complete the quests. If you want to talk about a game with bad side quests point your finger towards Ni No Kuni. Xenoblade is really great in how it streamlines most of the annoying JRPG features (fast traveling, change time on the fly, automatically complete quests, EXP for discovering new areas).

Because Nintendo isn't competent enough to put it on the Eshop.

Cause my copy of Xenoblade together with Pandoras Tower and the Last Story are still sealed and will remain so for the time being.

I haven't seen it anywhere. And I know it's expensive online, so I won't be getting it anytime soon.

The copies I found were way too expensive. It's a real shame. I am looking forward to X though.

Too busy playing better jrpgs like ni no kuni, demons souls and soul sacrifice for starters.

I have both xenoblade and last story. I only played about 5 hours of xenoblade and then got distracted. I want to go back and play but with two kids(3 if you include dota) i cant find time for a 100 hour experience. The last story is the perfect length and a really cool game. One day I will dedicate myself to xenoblade, I just havent been able to make myself do it yet.

I played about five hours then got distracted. It's next in my backlog once I beat Metro: Last Light though!

One of my favorite games of all time is Final Fantasy XII; I found the gameplay absolutely wonderful. I need to spend more time with Xenoblade because I know it's got a very similar style (minus the amazing Gambit system).

And it's also hard to find. And if you do find it, chances are that it is mighty expensive.

There's still some demand for the game, so putting it on the WiiU eshop would be great. It's already translated. Just give it some gamepad compatibility. Charge a fair price for it so that people can experience the game. At the very least, it'll be good to build up some hype/interest for X.

I wouldn't say it's impossible. Kamiya already said that it would be perfectly doable to bring over Bayonetta to WiiU.

It's just that Nintendo hasn't done it with any title.

I feel this is a big reason why many haven't played it. Xenoblade is currently being sold in Gamestop and other resell outlets for upwards of $80+. That's just not reasonable, but because the game isn't widely available, scalpers can get away with it. If it were on the eShop, many more people would get to experience it.

Then, there's emulators, which are extremely tempting for people with PCs powerful enough when the regular game is so expensive and hard to find.

Because it's not on a system I own or care to own.

Its on a system that i dont own and dont plan on owning.
