Why GTA5 on PC is worth the wait

I also have a PS3. The GTA games had never interested me because of the third-person view.

But, the PS4 version has 1. A first-person mode and 2. No silly HUD. Those two things piqued my interest.

The PS4 as a whole doesn't have enough exclusives for me to warrant buying one (yet). So, the PC version of GTA V it is.

I like......

So everyone wins.

Has opposed to the 70 euros on consoles?

Guess i could import it from the UK.....oh right, when i had in shipping fees and the pound to euro convertion, console games still cost 60 euros.

And that's not compared to the UK PC prices, being it physical or download. Or the GMG VIP codes. Or any other store, physical or digital out there to buy from.

waiting almost 2 years for tiny improvements is not worth it.

Yes, one example proves PC games aren't cheaper...

And like Iggy said, steam is not the only place I could buy this on. Other stores have it at a more reasonable 49.99 euro.

It's just that I, personally, would like to have it on steam. So I can make the easy choice and wait.

Never actually played that one. The port was so bad it was emotionally upsetting.

Enjoyed 3-4 very much though. 4 was especially creative.

It's very unfortunate it's coming out so late on pc. I beat it in 2013 as well on 360.

But...that's the last console game I played. Before that, I didn't play a console game for 1-2 years.

I'm buying this again...and super happy the pc version is finally coming out. But it would have been MUCH better if this came out a year ago, or near initial release.

I'm buying 2 copies...1 for me, 1 for the wifey. GTA online...I'm sold yet again!

Which makes me wonder...I exploited a huge amount of money (100s of millions) on 360. Will my online profile still be available? I sure hope so.

It appears the pc users have forgotten about Grand Theft Auto 4.

The first time I played it, it ran like crap on both low or high settings xD

But modern hardware is able to run it really well. There is also a mod that fixes a lot of stuff. It's called gentlemen of the row I think.

Do check it out. It may be a terrible port, but it's just so much damn fun. Even more so than 3, haven't played 4 yet.

There was an overhead camera setting in GTA III, but not a single one after that.

It was totally useless, but it was still fun for nostalgia sake :P

@RoboCopISJesus: that's subjective. Playing a game 2 years before you would be considered better to a lot of people.

This isn't tiny improvements over the xbox360 version by any means, and you know that.

It's is quite worth it if you didn't get it on those systems, due to having so many more games to play each year than any console.

So in other words PC version is worth the wait for PC advantages.

I mean, sure that makes it better, I guess.

My question is why we need a thread like this. We all know PC version will be better. If you have the machine to run it, it is the version to be played.

Hermies got a short fuse. Begging and waiting, 4 consoles taking priority over a PC release(two of them that only recently launched and had small install bases), multiple delays, and finally a port 1 1/2 years later.

Rockstar made the big bucks already on console, now it's time to wheel out a Steam release.

Will have my GTX 980 Matrix this week. Been dying to play this game. Hopefully it will keep my attention long enough till The Division and RB6 Siege hit later this year.

What are console game prices in the region Rag is from? Likely 69.99 euro.

And the price will likely go down by summer, and will get a 50% off sale in the Steam Summer Sale.

Doesnt matter as long you cant buy it, over 30millions have already enjoyed the game but hope the 2years long waiting was worth it...to get high res textures. I own PC/Ps4/WiiU sofar this gen, may pick up Xboner later if enough good exclusives come out for it.

To all the console players asking why PC gamers couldn't just get the game on consoles a year ago, you don't understand. Even though I got the game a year ago, it was unplayable. Gaming on consoles is like shooting yourself in the foot.

I've seen them go up to 69.99 euro, yeah. Especially when PS4 and Xbone just launched the prices were that high.

(69.99 is like my budget for an entire steam sale lol)

Anyway, I haven't really looked into PS4/Xbone prices that much.But when I was last in a store I saw GTA V on Xbone and PS4 for 54.99. So that's why I thought the steam price was so high.

There will be places selling the PC version for 49.99. But I'd rather have it on steam so I'll be waiting for the summer sale for sure !

Sorry, but no GTA game is worth any wait. Maybe I just outgrew any desire to play as a thug in a video game.

The mods are going to be excellent. And when its done people won't be able to say that its a lazy port too. Rockstar will really have set a strong baseline for future mods and expansions. I think it will be up there with Skyrim with mods as far as player created content is concerned.

I'll have played and beaten it twice by the time it releases on PC. No way would I wait to play a GTA game.

Got it on PS3 & PS4, will probably get it on PC to play with other friends but the hermits round here are using it as an example of superiority when most of us played it almost 2 years ago.

At least we know they are trying their best to avoid a repeat of the GTA4 fiasco on PC. I'll still wait for a sale to get it as I've already beaten it on PS3.

I'm playing it on the PS4 now. It looks and plays amazing. I don't see much if any difference to the PC version (judging from what has been released so far). If crushed blacks are your thing you can achieve that with the contrast, brightness, and saturation settings on your TV/monitor.

I don't think it would be worth waiting several years for a what might be an incremental upgrade.
