[QUOTE="locopatho"][QUOTE="blue_hazy_basic"]No it won't, are handhelds as powerful as consoles?blue_hazy_basicYeah, look at the Vita, it's definitely beyond the Wii and close to 360/PS3 levels. There are PS3/Vita multiplats as well. There are PC/tablet multiplats but that doesn't mean the high end games.
Yeah be we aren't talkin Angry Birds here, we're talking full, 3D, retail games, appearing the same on PS3/Vita.
We aren't gonna see Skyrim on a phone or anything like that anytime soon but the gap is closing way faster then I ever could have dreamed.

Yea I mean I agree i suppose that they are getting closer, you're right, but they will always be behind due to space and cooling limitations. Could at least show a gameplay picture for both... :|Plain and simple, cause I like them along with my PC. I'm not a fanboy and they get games the PC doesn't get.
Why own a PC if you don't want one? People do like playing on consoles, even though PC fanboys can't fathom it. We know, you're sooo much better than us.

Playstation: God of War, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank, Infamous, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Twisted Metal, Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid, All Stars Battle Royale, Gran Turismo, The Last of Us, etc...
Xbox: Halo, Gears of War, Forza Motorsport, Lost Odyssey, Banjo-Kazooie, Alan Wake (console vers.), Fable (console vers.), Blue Dragon, Crackdown, Just Dance, Kameo, Left 4 Dead (console vers.), etc...
Wii: Super Mario Galaxy, Dead Space Extraction, Super Smash Bros, Boom Blox, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Wii Sports, Metroid Prime, de Blob, The Last Story, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Xenoblade, etc...
This majorly. Console exclusives.
[QUOTE="SNIPER4321"]Some people think PC gaming is expensive yet they buy multiple consoles inculiding handheld which cost more than Gaming PC. also why plasma TV dont count as cost? OB-47
Because most people already own a TV, meaning all they need to buy is the console
most people already own windows, speakers, keyboard and mouse, monitor, case, sound card, etc, meaning all they need to play games is a gpu that doesnt bottleneck, blow up their psu and is compatible with the motherboard they already own, even if they needed to replace a few things it's still cheap if you know what to get. yet every one here adds all those things that are already owned to the cost of a computer. if they add that, they should add a tv to their console cost, which could be more expensive or the same as an average gaming computer(barely 1k), depending on what tv they own.if i add my tv to my wii, it comes to 780 not counting taxes(42 inch plasma was 300 dollars off on sale and tax free) my computer cost a little more than 4 times that ($3,435.93 and counting) not because i needed to spend that much to play games, but because i like upgrading and overkill and do more than play games.

There are a lot more than that, which I'm sure your aware of, although as far as exclusive pc stuff, there may be a majority of RTS, and MMO games. Why own a gaming PC? All you get is RTS and MMO games...:|
See...I can do it too.
Puckhog04
I own all three. PC, 360,PS3,and Wii. Wait, that's four. Best to play em all and not choose sides. Why own a PC if you don't want one? People do like playing on consoles, even though PC fanboys can't fathom it. We know, you're sooo much better than us.

Because you can't play many of the PS3, Wii and XBox 360 exclusives on a PC. Most of the decent PC games are now on consoles. There's no reason to play games on a PC unless you're a graphic whore and care about mods. I'm neither. At this point in the gen, consoles arn't really worth much aside paper weights or doorstops.. All you get is a jaggy, lesser gamingexperience. The extremly rare worthwhile exclusive doens't warrant paying 200$+ per console not to mention controllers other peripherals. And tbh i'd rather avoid the dozens the casual fps's, movies, wannabe racing sim's, and rehashed fighters... Only fathomable reason to own a console is if you cant afford a decent PC or to play with console only friends..

There's lots of viable setups.
Laptop + 360 = play everything, do everything
Desktop PC + PS3 = play everything, do everything
I don't see what the argument's about.
If you don't have a console then you're missing out, but for some people what they get on PC or console (solo platform) is enough for them and that's fine.
PC used to be "must have" now it's not.
PC used to be "best experience" now it's not.
As devices get smaller and more advanced, "High Def" becomes easier to achieve and beefier hardware becomes irrelevant, even phones are HD now.
This creates anxiety for PC gamers who see their platform largely becoming irrelevant.
Unaccustomed to this irrelevance, they sit on forums 24x7 bashing other platforms, and in turn BEING bashed for their rampant dickishness.
The whole thing is just so pathetic and unncessary.
Digital is universal, EVERYTHING is "PC" now, your phone is PC, your PS3 is PC, your 360 is PC, tablet is PC, Windows is PC, Mac is PC.
That's what Tim Cook means by the term "Post PC era."
PC = personal computer
It doesn't mean "Windows/Intel"

Didn't you get the memo? Consoles are dying.
Yeah right, text me when they're dead, it'll give me an excuse to catch up on my Steam backlog.

The same thing was said about PC gaming. LOL!! Memo must have come from a troll. Consoles aren't going anywhere. We already know that there will be another Wii, PS and XBox within the next 2 years. What's funny is even with software sales being lower in 2010, 2011 and 2012 for consoles, they still outsold PC software sales every year. lol!!elitist... consoles are just as good as pc's for gaming.campzor:lol:
Consoles are cheap, PCs are high quality. Consoles are good for gaming if you have no money, but that is not the same thing as being "just as good." Also, PC games are a lot cheaper so the price argument really doesn't mean much anyway. So yeah, consoles are not as good for gaming unless you're lazy and don't care about quality.

Games by Nintendo (Mario, Metroid, Zelda, and dozens more), Rockstar (Red Dead Redemption), Platinum (Vanquish, Bayonneta), Naughty Dog (Uncharted series), Bungie (Halo series), are some of the highest quality in the world and never make it to PC. Of course. The point wasn't "Killzone better then Metroid", the point was "OMG handhelds went from SNES to PS3 level in 10 years!"
