why does Rockstar..

always put the aim/shoot button at L2/R2 for the PS3??

GTA4, Red Dead and now Max Payne 3. i thought these gamess were developed by different studios. do they have a centralized system for the controls or what?

im kinda disappointed and pissed off that, once again, the aim/shoot is at L2/R2 triggers which are terrible for shooting. every other game ou there uses L1/R1, and people have already complained way back in 2008 yet somehow Rockstar does not give us an option to change the button configs.

they're treating it like it's the 360 controller. come on. is it so hard to, you know, change a few lines of code to make an L1/R1 aim/shoot config? really?

not the same thing. R* said you can switch the triggers around (for a southpaw), like R2 becomes aim and L2 becomes shoot. at least from what i can infer.

Though I prefer L1/R1, L2/R2 is simple enough to switch to. I actually like the extra bit of fine tuning I have with it, but otherwise its not a big deal.

You do know that it Red Dead Redemption you have the option of switching it right? Anyways, its done that way because 360 is the industry standard platform. That is just the way it is. StrongDeadlift

It wasn't an option at first, after people were pissed about it R* patched it...

I was going into this thread hoping it would be about how overrated Rockstar is. So I could agree.

You could switch it in RDR, so I imagine you'll be able to switch in in MP3. The real question is, will the game be sluggish and pooey like GTA IV, slightly better like RDR, or improved over RDR.

I never understood why "Triggers" had to be used as the actual "Triggers" in games. The triggers are pressure sensitive and are much more at home with driving than shooting. Shooting isn't a pressure sensitive action. Its on or off

Sorry, I got a little excited to hear someone say exactly what I've said about this.

Triggers would be awesome if they were like an actual trigger though, with slack that affected your shot. Probably wouldn't work too well for racers any more though.

Yeah I have said it since I first used a PS3 controller. Makes absolutely no sense to have them as an actual trigger.

i WAS a PC gamer. how the hell would i follow this game if i didn't play the first two? oh right, it was on Xbox. oh wait, but when Max Payne came out i was living in Asia. you know, where there was no Xbox. never even heard of Halo until i got here to the West. and i was like, "wtf? CS 1.4 eats this game alive and spits it back out."

That guy who doesn't know what Darkwing Duck is has annoyed me. I am now going to watch Darkwing Duck episodes on youtube. And yes, I agree with this topic. Shooting should be on R1. Though it doesn't bother me too much. Just takes a bit of getting used to.
