Notice how I didn't even mention Forza 4's Autovista cars?

And please, if you actually think GT5's Ferrari 458 can compare to Forza's Autovista 458, you're more of a moron than I thought. Try actually playing Forza 4 before you bash it. You might not end up shoving your foot in your mouth.

And let's look at a couple other pics from the Kotaku article whose pics you can't stop quoting.

GT5

GT5 1

Amorphous green blob vs actual textures. Yeah, GT5's is more detailed.

KarateeeChop

looks like while poly was recycling cars from ps2 games, they also thought "screw it we might as well reuse the ps2 textures for the track too"

Looks like sh!t indeed

PD is a small team of about 140 people (Turn 10 has over 300).

And to make GT5, the game engine had to be built from scratch. Engines take a long time to make. Unreal Engine 4 was in development since 2003.

It took Gran Turismo 5, five years to make and what happened? It flopped lol

I just want to know what they were doing in all that time, and why the final product wasn't like anything that was promised.

Because it takes 5 forza games to sell what gran turismo sells in 24 hours

Meeeper282
Which also tells how deep in nostalgia and how out of touch with reality those guys who keep buying Gran Turismo are. By the way, yesterday at the biggest shopping mall in my city I saw some Sony displays, with PSVita, PS3, etc. There was of course Gran Turismo 5. Needless to say the very sight of it, disgusted me. Knowing that PSVita is an utter failure but pretending it isn't, because "HEY, It's Poland! The only country in the world where PSP or PSVita outsold Nintendo DS by a landslide".

Not to mention GT5 recycled many of PS2-era car models (did someone say something about building from scratch?)...

Many employees brought their sleeping bags and pajamas to work and slept in the office. That's not laziness. That's dedication.

So? PolyPHONY had twice the amount of Dev Time...and WAY More Money. Only to Release an Unfinished "grind fest" that doesnt even have damage until level 40. That game was a mess upon release.

Only PD & Sony can answer that question...

Personally I dont mind if PD takes 4years to finish a game as long as they deliver upon expectations..

GT5 while being one of the best racers released this year still disappointed me on a few things, but lets hope PD will make sure GT6 & hopefully GT PSV are better than their last 2 games..

Just a bit outside there Poindexter. Should have guessed it would be a moron like you post that pic.

This is what that car really looks like.

i3los.jpg

I would show you how it looks in the Forza games, but, it's not in there.....

Funny..You are WRONG AGAIN! when you're in photo mode and zoom in, it looks like that. You = Fail

Im not joinin in a silly argument but you are correct on the first car pic, just before a race starts and the camera pans over the standard cars clearly look like this on the grid, even your own car looks the same if its a standard.

Japanese devs can't handle this "HD Gen". Stuff like Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy and Resident Evil taking years to develop and coming out at average at best.

Mate before you start calling people out and calling them "dumb" how about you get your facts straight ay. I wasn't talking about sales, i was talking about the quality of the game... and it was terrible.

Because the folks at Polyphony Digital are supposed "perfectionists" even though their most recent release was unfinished after about 5 years of development.

Because they put too much effort into some of the things that don't even matter, and they also refuse to outsource workers.

Forza on the other hand, while amazing, has stupidly small improvements between each Forza game (Horizon excluded), thus releases them quickly, the differences between Forza 2 and 4 are similar to the differences between GT4 and 5, but differences between say Forza 2 and 3 were tiny and 3 and 4 werer also tiny (welcome nonetheless).
