Why do retailers love PC gamers so much?

@TC, a typical conselite is a typical movie go-er, they always buy into w.e the industry feeds them. High demand, high prices. PC/hermits are like princes or connoisseur with their choices, so they have to drive a hard bargain to get them to buy. Plus many other factors as others may of stated.

CONSOLE GAMING : Comparable to taking out a loan for a car. Gives a false impression its cheaper. Sure you drive the car immediately, but you pay more in the long run as there is interest each month , especially if you are a heavy gamer and get like 20+ games per generation .   ( and by loan interest i mean publisher fees for each game that have to be paid)

PC GAMING : you are not allowed to take out a loan to get that car, You pay all upfront. But since you were able to do so, you dont have to pay any interest and you actually spend less on the long term because games are cheaper       

Obviously this would not apply for enthusiast pc game builders as they squander money like no tommorrow, but a gaming build of around 800-1000 is perfect for a high end gaming system. 

Since no fees have to be paid to the publisher, both methods of gaming end up being about the same investment. However with PC you get a clear advantage of better graphics and an open platform that SIMPLY DOES EVERYTHING.

PROS OF GAMING PC

-Emulation  of consoles and mobile gaming

-Steam equal cheap games (or get from amazon digital which is usually better)

-best platform for multiplats

-All games get extended lifes thanks to the mod community.. GTA 4 with enchancer.. Skyrim with mods, Arma 3 Dayz.. MODS GALORE. You name it, pc is better.

-most amount of Peripherals than all the consoles combined ( flight sicks,Virtual reality oculus rift , gamepads,progaming mice, mass button mice for mmo's, mech keyboards, Driving wheel and pedals,3 monitor set up, Eye tracker to do game commands with.   

-Hook up your pc to your big HD 1080P TV and play on that xbox 360 controller @ the couch or on the BED which is better than the couch!

-If pc parts spoil you replace that part alone, if console part gets broken..You gotta send it back to the factory or get a new one. If your controller brakes, you gotta spend $50 u.s for another and the hard drive for consoles is OVERPRICED considering the size.

pc has $15 dollar logitech mouse/keyboard combo  for easy replacement 

-Pc gaming library does not end at the end cycle of a console generation. The game is always there to be played . 

Its just obvious pc gaming trumps console gaming in every possible way. Dont need to say anymore , it speaks for itself

Console gamers pay for all that marketing. PC gamers don't have marketing. Word of mouth and the internet are how word is spread for PC games. That kind of marketing is pretty cheap.AmazonTreeBoa

I would say most of the time it is cheaper except for Borderlands 2; that game is stuck at 60 for DD. Hell you can buy the console and PC DVD version for 30; that game hardly budges.

It's to do with piracy, the lack of royalties and the different markets. They have to make the game prices look as attractive as possible. That and the publisher doesn't have to pay a royalty to release on the platform.

If a publisher thinks they can constantly release games at £40 a pop on the PC, they're on crack. They can get away with that on consoles because of how much control they have over you. And because sales are more guaranteed they keep the prices high, like supply and demand. The same reason they didn't drop the price of the PS3 much, because people are still buying it at that price.

what does the pc section look like at almost any brick and mortar non pc speciality store?

3 small shelves with two of those shelves holding mavis beacon teaches typing, 99 casino card games titles and productivity software.

hell, i bet i have not bought a pc title off anything but steam or good old games or whatever in two years.

Yep PC gaming for me actually ended up being cheaper after all the amazing deals I get on games. I've spent more money on consoles and console games but with less games than I did with my gaming pc and the games I bought for it. Including the start up cost!! :lol:

wait what, when i go to a store i never see any one talk about pc at all for gaming , in fact my walmart has moved all pc games away from the console game section all together! and it hardly has a selection , of pc games and gamestop hardly carries any new ones most of their games are the old ones and some new releases cause most went digital only , 

my walmart seams to like nintendo and microsoft more ,   - cause every time i go there to buy  a game , i never see the ps3 version of a certain game   they always only have the ds psp 360 and wii version /now wiiu ,   if available ,    gamestop is the only one that i know in my area that carries every game , everyone else i go to does not stock up on alot of stuff
