Why can't ALL the consoles be successful

Why can't all of the consoles be successful.  Everytime somebody points out that one console sold more than the other, it doesn't mean that the console that was outsold has "flopped!!!", it just means the other one sold more.  All of the consoles can be successful and I am assuming that this is what will happen this generation.  None will flop, some will do better than others, and they will all be successful. WOW, what a great time for gaming!

Because they all target the same group of people i.e gamers. Since there are only a limited number of gamers (not counting the Nintendo's strategy for non-gamers) and it's logical to assume that not everybody will buy all 3 consoles, there will naturally be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.taker42

I agree with that , that there will be a 1st , 2nd, 3rd, but it's not "If You're First You're Last" is it.....you don't have to be first to be successful.
