I have both and I love love them each to death! With my Vita I get games that are just like the ones on my console! But with the 3ds I get games speccifacly made for the 3ds. The Vita right now reminds me of the first year of the 3ds and even a little today, There are many games but only some worth playing. What do you guys think (Honest oppnions please)

I've had a 3DS for over a year and got a Vita for xmas. 3DS has a growing library and it's only getting better with time. Vita is still slouching on the sofa when it comes to games. It needs to get off that sofa and soon. I like them both, so don't get me wrong. But my 3DS gets far more attention than my Vita.

I have both a 3DS with 85 games currently (8 on the way) and a PS Vita with 55 games (11 on the way). I perfer the Vita overall. It has better features, online and games that I like. 3DS currently has a slightly better library though. Both libraries are similar with alot of ports and toned down console games. Neither system has many unique handheld experiences but I don't care about that.

I need to get more Vita Games truthfully.

I have a 3DS and plan to get a Vita. I'm just waiting patiently for a deal to chance upon. I almost made the jump when that ATT sale for $50 32 GB happened but my order was cancelled due to lack of stock. A 32 memory card is pretty much a must for me due to wanting to build an all DD library so I'm essentially looking at a $350 purchase which is just too much.

i have both. as a gaming machine i prefer the vita. its just a really well thought out device to play games on. at the moment my 3ds is not being used much as i am catching up on the good games on the vita. however outside soul sacrefice its looking very quiet on the vita front. sony will probably focus on the ps4 for e3 so i am concerned about games in the future. the 3ds line up is looking very strong in contrast. my 3ds will be busy again when luigis mansion arrives and thats only the first of the big guns. for me one big positive for the vita though is psp support in the store so i will still have plenty of gems to dig up. but i would like to see a more solid line up of vita games.

I have both, i got the 3DS just after the price drop in September(?) 2011. I bought the PSvita at launch back in Feb 2012, I vastly prefer the Vita. I just really hate using the 3DS after using the Vita, admittedly i only ever bought one game for the 3DS (Zelda) and then i just got sick of using the system, I tried numerous demoes on it and just didn't feel like buying anything because i didn't feel like the games were worth the price (In Australia 3DS games are $60 and they pretty much never go down in price), even if i try to shop for games online stuff like Super Mario 3D land are still $48. In contrast games for the Vita like: Mortal Kombat $31, Disgaea 3 $35, P4G $43, Sly Cooper $34 etc and then atleast with Vita i get new games with PS+ like Lumines, Wipeout, MGS Collection etc.

If you want to know some really messed up stuff look at the pricing on our Gamestop website (EB games here), RE: Revelations for 3DS is $68, It's priced at $58 for PS360.
Infact Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros 2, Mario Kart 7, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Luigi's Mansion 2, Castlvania: MoF are ALL $68 for some random reason, and yet Soul Sacrifice is priced at $53, P4G is $43, $58 for DoA5+ and NGS2+, Killzone Mercenary is priced at $68 though but the point is that in general 3DS games are more expensive then Vita games for no good reason at all, and i just don't want to buy games that i don't feel are really worth the price that they are asking for them.

I love that i can now use the internet browser on my PSV to look up trophy guides for the game i am playing and i can just swap between them really easily also, or i can just minimize my game and check up what friends are doing or send messages or just chat with other people (something which i believe will become more important once Vita actually gets a decent multiplayer game maybe Soul Sacrifice or Killzone Mercenary)

I also have issues with the 3DS system's ergonomics, i find the corners dig into my palms and i find it very uncomfortable to use i plan on selling my original 3DS and getting an XL when X/Y release though.

I find it kind of funny when people say the Vita has no games also since i have a fair few for it... Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Wipeout, Rayman Origins, Mutant Blobs attack, Escape Plan, Super Stardust Delta, Dynasty Warriors next (waste of money tbh...), Ninja Gaiden Sigma +, Oddworld: Strangers Wrath, Persona 4 golden, Mortal Kombat, MGS collection, Lumines, PvZ, Zero Escape: Virtues Last Reward etc. not to mention all my PSone and PSP stuff.

TL: DR - I prefer the Vita.

That would be stupid considering there's about 5 good games between the 2 systems.

I take it you don't know much about either or don't care for Japanese games much?

I've own both for a while(3ds at launch, vita about two months after release), Vita gets most my play time, since I'm catching up with the psp library. Both great handheld devices, I'm thinking of buying the 3DSXL because of the screen. I'm finding it really hard to switch back and forth without missing that big ol screen on the vita.

I find a both a bit uncomfy, but I can live with it. :P

Tell me about it, I have over 50 games for the vita  in total... vita(24),  psp(18) and ps1(12). Thats without counting minis, mobile games. Compared to the 16 3ds games I own.  D=

Maybe it's more of an appeal thing.

#14 Posted by OreoMilkshake (12729 posts) -
I own half of those.
#15 Posted by -Patrick_92- (2168 posts) -

I bought a 3DS at launch, held on to it for about a year and traded it in to buy a Vita at launch. So I've had each system for a year each, and have enjoyed the Vita a lot more than the 3DS.  Not to say that the 3DS is bad though, it's not, I'm just not really into the 3DS's library, or the hardware now after playing on a Vita.

Eventually I will buy another 3DS, I really want Pokemon Y and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.  I think Nintendo might do another redesign, so I wont be buying one anytime soon though.

I have both. I really like the Vita, don't like the 3DS but for now and the foreseeable future the 3DS has a much better library.

I have both, though if t wasn't for Persona 4 Golden and Gravity Rush, I could care less abut the handheld and stuck with my PSP.

I did but i sold my 3DS last month.

I want to have both but I currently only have a 3DS; Next I want to get a 3DS XL and then sometime later I want to get a Vita.

I have a Vita and I owned a 3DS so I'd say I'm well informed but yea I don't care too much for JRPGs. On 3DS I only played Mario 3D Land and Zelda. I'd get Luigi's mansion if I still had one. I'd love to play Pokemon X/Y which is something I'm pretty embarrassed to admit at age 20. On Vita I've only played Uncharted. I'll probably get Killzone. A lot of the game I already have on PS3.

I have both and I prefer the vita better but the 3ds will be getting my attention with monster hunter for the whole month of April, until soul sacrifice comes out.
#26 Posted by Floppy_Jim (25597 posts) -

3DS; SM 3D Land & Mario Kart 7 are both great. NSMB 2 released too soon after vastly superior Mario games for it to leave a really good impression. RE Revelations is a very good Resi game but I would have bought a 3DS later had I known it was getting a console release. DQ7 and MH4 could be 2+ years off, Donkey Kong is a fvcking port, Castlevania is getting very mixed reactions so I'm counting on Fire Emblem to be awesome to see me through some droughts. Quite satisfied, all it needs to be an amazing handheld rather than a good handheld is another Advance Wars game.

Vita; Looking somewhat bleak after Soul Sacrifice & Killzone. There's still 8-10 games I haven't finished and "free" games each month via Plus so I'll always have more to do on this handheld than the 3DS.

I had both..........then I sold my Vita on Ebay. It sat there and everytime I tryed to play the thing I would last maybe 20 mins, I shouldve learned my lesson from buying a PSP.....Sony handhelds suck IMO. Most of the games have better versions I could buy for PS3. Theyre port machines with a few gems here and there. I could play any of my 3DS games for at least an hr though.

#29 Posted by Mrmedia01 (1917 posts) -

I have both. Love Vita much more but the problem is 3DS has more games to play, but I don't like much of the 3DS games. So I guess I need more games that I like on Vita.

I only have a vita but I do want a 3ds for the new pokemon, I need to get more games for my vita, I love it but sadly I'm been pretty broke lately "sad face"

Both system libraries are over 100 games so, you do have very little experience. You may not be interested in more then 5 games but their certainly are much more good games then that.

Portables are always inferior when compared to home console. Both get about the same amount of ports so I don't get that double standard Like their home consoles their games differ quite a bit is all.

for the entire time the PSP has been around only one game greatly interested me: Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together. I feel like the Vita isn't going to be much better than its predecessor. I only have a 3DS of the two

Seriously, especially now that the Wii-U is out and has dual screens. Any game done on the 3DS would be better on the Wii-U. 3D doesn't add much of anything to gameplay so, any game on either the VIta or 3DS has less potential then their HD console big brother. Nintendo fanboys like any fanboy are hypocrites though (Not specifically targetting Juan BTW.).

I do. I find the Vita does 3rd party better and the 3DS has just enough kickass first party to make it awesome.
#38 Posted by Epak_ (6765 posts) -

Have a 3DS, don't see a reason to own a Vita at the moment.

#39 Posted by famicommander (8524 posts) -
I have had a 3DS since launch and a Vita since about a month or so after it came out (bought the Vita for dirt cheap on craigslist). Vita is a dead system, but I knew that when I bought it. 3DS is unquestionably better but Vita has its place in my collection. Hopefully PSO2 gets localized but I doubt it.
#40 Posted by Slashkice (13055 posts) -

Own both like a boss. My favorite kid is the Vita, but the 3DS still gets love. The experience of playing on a Vita is just a lot better than the 3DS. It also helps that I prefer the game library.

The only PSP game that interested me was Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman. I hope I could play that when I get a Vita.

But its library is so big and vast. It basically took care of handheld 3D gaming while the DS took care of 2D handheld gaming for me, although both had great success in all sorts of dimensions.

i got both 70 plus 3ds games -mostly vc , 24 retail,     and 9 vita games again most downloadbles -4 retail ,   i prefer 3dsxl

I have and love both.

If I had to get rid of one of them it would be Vita just because there are a lot more games I'm interested in on 3DS.

Only have a 3DS. have been getting more interested in the Vita though. If the price cut ever reaches the states, then that could motivate me enough to actually get it.

3ds will get miiverse support this year... having friends and messaging them will get much better on 3ds.

#50 Posted by Joedgabe (5110 posts) -

I have both.. but the 3DS quickly ran out of juice.... I only got Pokemon x and y and Monster Hunter to look foward to on the 3DS. As for the Vita.. Soul Sacrifice is looking awesome... but idk any other game to ge after that one. In all honesty everyone saying that the 3DS library is godlike is exagerating.. the games worthy of paying 40 dollars for are very few. While the Vita is still young it doesn't have much either.
