A game that sold 5+ million copies but has a metascore of under 80

Or a game that sold under 200k copies but has a metacore of 90 or higher.

Doesn't taking into consideration of things like development costs or size of company ETC.

Under the right circumstances each Is a huge success on the terms you supplied.

A major publisher would be happy with them sales if it pays the bills.

A 2 man indie team would love 200k units sold and a 90 score average.

The first one is much much better for the company. that and a game with a metascore under 80 could still very easily be a good game.

I was more poking fun at the superficiality in this forum, which is probably more fitting than actually mounting an intellectual argument against it.

The one that got hyped a higher number than the one it was given in the review.

Typically a game that sold 5+ million and with a metacritic score under 80 would be ideal for most publishers, but a game made by an small dev that sells 200k could yield huge profits for them.

I think it is based on the foundation.

If it is solid, then the money and score should work according to charts.

Insignificance is always outside the straight line.
