Eh, just for the heck of it I'll say... SEGA !!! :P

Oh by the way...... did I ever tell you how much I hate Resource based difficulty ?
Stamina Gauges, shield gauges, hell even Life Bars... I'd like to go over with you over luncg some time.
Ha, I figured you would :p
I guess it's even worse when you can upgrade them :o
@freedomfreak:
That entirely depends on how the developers design their challenges..... for starters in tge Batman Games I always upgraded the batsuit armour last...... the game wasn't built around numbers like an RPG so I never felt the need to bother with things like increased health and damage..... but in Dark Souls.... when I hold up a shield and the baddies hit me once, taking away all my stamina and half my health then yeah.... it would bother me if I can't change it,or if changing it requires lots and lots of grinding....
Its funny.....
Whats the deal with Resource Management anyway ?
The biggest problem with SOTC in my eyes is that you didn't eat any colossus meat. It was such a waste. The game should have had a nearby village that you kept fed by bringing in 10 tons of fresh meat daily.

Hmm.. I always go for health upgrades first. In Batman, it allows me to take more hits before the "you died" screen pops up. Same goes for Bayonetta, and other games that allow me to upgrade my health.
I don't know, man. One of the many, many things developers use in their games to make them... more game-y?

The Wanderer is a selfish asshole, that's for sure.

Probably wears fur.
Probably wears fur.
And not a single person in that empty world to throw paint at him.

Yes. How convenient.
I've only played a few games by Platinum, Bayonetta 2 being the most recent. The boss battles in that game are nothing short of spectacular. My vote goes to Retro Studios, though. All three Metroid Prime games have incredible boss battles. Some are effing difficult(looking at you, Boost Ball Guardian).
Retro is very good. The Metroid Prime bosses are great and I think the DKC bosses are among the very best in the platformer genre, if not the best.

Not me.... I want to be thoroughly punished for not having a proper understanding of the gameplay.... although to be fair I have no shame playing on the easiest difficulty first so I can learn and experiment 1st......
I'm not a big fan of the strategy has "acceptable losses" to my health..... I like systems that can be perfected...... thats what has always botheted me about chess..... acceptable losses.

I only play objectively bad games on the easiest difficulty. Because they're so broken, I'd rather not have it be a challenging broken experience.
Not even into chess, Lulu? Damn, damn, damn.
@freedomfreak:
I'm gonna say something and that would probably make you lose whatever little respect you were patient enough to salvage for me........
All right, here it comes......
CHESS SUCKS..... There I said it !
If by some miracle you're still reading, let me see if I can explain...... chess is definitely a deep and balanced game..... until the pieces start moving and coming off the board.....its not an interesting game to be good or suck at because it suffers from something called a Local Imbalance.....its not fun to lose because you don't have enough pieces or choices you can make and its not fun to win against someone eho doesn't have enough pieces or choices to make a come back....
The only time its intetesting is when two equally crappy players take as many of the opponents pieces of the board that they take from you.
@Lulu_Lulu: Damn, Lulu. Not liking chess. I mean, I get why you don't dig it, but you can still have a fun round of chess, right? I mean, it's chess D:
Ofcourse I do....I just don't like the mindset it puts me in.....
Makes me feel like a sadist... :(
It's pretty sadistic to hate on Chess, Lulu :(
Although I will forgive you. We can't all like the same things. Unless it's Bayonetta. Everyone should love Bayonetta.
@freedomfreak:
Hmmm no its not...... chess is no different than Uncharted..... its a game everybody thinks is the cats pijamas and then you play it and you just don't see what the fuss is......
It makes you wonder... is there something wrong with you or maybe.... just maybe you are the only person who hasn't gone bat shit insane....

I know I haven't gone batshit insane.
I think.
Either way..... I'm not going be a lamb and agree that something is the best ever untill I understand exacyly how it works.......then I'll decide for myself.....
BTW.... I love Bayonetta, everybody should.
Well, at least you love Bayonetta :D
That's always good.
Going with Santa Monica. GOW boss fights are always epic. Also giving props to Square Enix for FFXV. That Leviathan fight was one of the most epic boss fights I've ever seen in an RPG. Oh, and Platinum for their work on Nier Automata. All I played was the demo and I damn near instantly bought the game because of that 1 boss fight lol
Damn, blast from the past. Miss King Arthur and LuLu. :(
But yeah, Platinum.
On an individual game (or boss) basis I can think of plenty that are right on up there with the best, but Platinum seems to be the most consistent.
I didn't enjoy that much what Platinium did with both Bayonetta and Transformers Devastation.
God Of War had some incredible boss fight like Poseidon at the beginning of GOW3.
Capcom with Resident evil, when you fight the monster at the end it was epic with the timer. Or Capcom again with Mega Man X2, Sigma was impressive. Capcom again with Devil May Cry 3, the last battle with Vergil.
Mortal kombat 2 with Shang Tsung, Kintaro and Shao Khan.
Margarette in P4G, it was awesome to me with the music and how she will always have the right Persona to give you a hard time.
Shadow Of The Colossus was something too, especially the first one.
In one of the Naruto Shippuden, Sasuke kills the Hokage on a bridge and then Naruto, Sakura and Kakashi come across Sasuke that has problem with his eyes and then Naruto and Sasuke battle, it was seriously epic and the last battle of the last Shippuden between Naruto and Sasuke.
The last boss of Final Fantasy VI, at the end Kefka was something after 4 battles without a pause.
The most anti-climatic final boss fight was in Fallout 3 for me. A normal douchebag without any armor ... come one, one shot in the head and it was over.
No, it's not Naughty Dog.
Why would they be? Their games barely have any boss fights... (though the TLoU David "boss fight" was pretty cool)
Anyway some I like are:
PG obviously
From Software
Sony Santa Monica
Grasshopper (more style over substance but the style is like no other)
Capcom (in their RE/DMC/Onimusha good old days)
Kojima Productions
Rocksteady
Is this a joke? Anyone who doesn't answer Blizzard has obviously never played WoW. Period.
MMO's don't get the respect they deserve in most aspects around here....
Mainly because casuals dont get that far.... or just think "because I didnt do it all myself its not good!" ... kinda sucks, but what can you do.
