Whats the most important aspect of a Video-Game to you ?

For me its the story, I just would never play a game if it doesn't have a great or satisfactory story-line. I think gameplay and graphics are important but story is more important to me. Metal Gear Solid has by far the best story-line ever, I really enjoy MGS games I mean the gameplay and graphics are great but the story has to be the best story ever in my opinion, and its told in a fantastic way.

I'm the opposite, story means little to nothing to me, only in RPG's I care about story.

Mostly? Competitive gameplay.

1. If I'm having fun.

2. If the story interests me.

Physics because everything else is a wash with out decent physics. Without Physics the aiming systems are off, flow of character is off, point of view is lost, function in controller is lost. A good example of lack of physics is 50 cents game.

I want good physics and thats why I own a PS3. Power of the CELL. Heck in Resistance I can stack bodies to the ceiling.

Simply a good, fun, complelling gameplay design.

If it's ugly, so what?

If it's story-less, so what?

If it sounds annoying, I mute it.

But if it's just plain boring or poorly designed, I don't play it.

Customization.

Gameplay is the biggest one, but i think story and graphics play a HUGE role as well. As long as the graphics look GOOD, im happy(a la some wii games)

Yeah true, PS3 does have the best physics this gen. This will become more apparent as developers get to know PS3 better. At the moment Motorstorm and RFOM are good examples of PS3's physics power.

Polish is the most important factor.

A highly polished game will be very good at what it does even if its missing some of the things listed. Thats better than a messy game that tries to do everything.

Replay Value and Longevity. I want a game that will keep me coming back for more I.E SUper Smash Bros. Melee or Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance...

Mine has to do mostly with gameplay, but it isn't necessarily the same thing, in my opinion..... FUN.

That's the most important factor to me. I don't need good graphics, sound, physics, or even gameplay. I think the most important factor of those is probably gameplay, but not even great gameplay means that the game will be fun.

I agree with you 100%.. IF the story of a game is flat out lame.. Then I normally kick it to the curb. And I agree about MGS.

Gameplay.

Graphics aren't that important becausue I still play old games on the Wii virtual console, Story is important but a game can still be fun with a shallow story such as Crackdown, the same goes for sound.

Gameplay by far. If the game isn't fun, why would you keep putting it into your system to play it?

I absolutely could not agree with you more. It's a shame, I can't seem to find any game that deliverd like KoOR, or even KotOR2.

Story is important to me. Gameplay is pretty much given but its story that gives it the staying power.

Doesn't apply to competitive gaming though.

All the Halo fans should have voted Physics. Because it is what made Halo, and it was one of the best in this during last gen. Killzone 1 had poor physics.caseypayne69

Story is important but would you play a game that has a good story or looks good or etc... but is just no fun to play.

Games comes down to gameplay as the basics for all games in terms of what is most important. I love MGS but it would be garbage if it played like Robocop for the Xbox. lol

Fun. It comes from gameplay, comes from online, comes from graphics -yes, pretty graphics are fun to watch.

I don't care if it's a deep or shallow system, or if the dialogue tree is as branching as obscure game x had it. If the dev made it fun, I'm in.

Simple answer, it has to be fun. By fun it doesnt just mean Nintendo fun, but a game that is interesting.
