What was your reason to buy a PS 4?

Bloodborne + DLC interests me very highly on PS 4, if i buy a PS 4 in future it will be just for Bloodborne. Any other PS 4 games i'd love to play as Nier Automata, Ni Oh, Unchartered 4, Persona V, Final Fantasy VII and XV ETC will be added bonus. Then Brand Loyalty is there as playstation served me well with games i loved to play on PS 2 and PS 3.

same as you, if I bought a ps4 it would only be for Bloodbourne, everything else im either not interested in or can play on PC

To continue playing the epic games from SONY, mainly Uncharted.

• last generation lasted too long (PS4 came before X1 in my country)
• dualshock finally redesigned
• no mandatory gimmicks
• clever hardware decisions
• lots of dev support (AAA and indie)
• it has alot in common with the 360

I didn't have a gaming PC at the time, and I wanted to play Next-gen games. Didn't like Microsoft's Xbox One launch, nor original ideas (TV TV TV, etc). But they've done a complete 180*.

Uncharted 4, GT Sport, DOAX3, R&C, Infamous, Ace Combat, Gravity Rush 2, FF15, Ni Oh, FF7, Driveclub, and many more games.

Edit: Also add Onechanbara and Senran Kagura Estival Versus to the list of reasons I own a PS4.

I wanted a proper next-gen console experience, there really was no contest.

@93BlackHawk93: I left my PS3 in India when I moved to the US. I could have either bought a PS3 to play Persona 5 or a PS4. A PS4 simply made far more sense.

Of course, now i have access to my PS3 and my PS4, but I don't regret the PS4 purchase.

Also for Uncharted 4, Persona 5, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts 3, and the multitude of multiplats (I picked up the PS4 at launch, long before I decided to get an Xbox One).

JRPG is probably my fav genre so of course the PS4 was a no-brainer.

and I always enjoy some first party games that comes from no-where ( see Until Dawn, Heavy Rain and Puppeteer )

Because its a great console.

I was working away from home with the potential of the job lasting another two months, so I bought a PS4. Typically a few days later some major jobs came up in my area and I was pulled off the one I was on to deal with the new ones. It hasn't been on since.

It may get outings for UC4 and Horizon but not at release, I'll pick them up from the bargain bin a few months after release. I've seen a lot of peeps hyping Persona 5 as well but having never played 1 - 4, it's unlikely I'll get 5. Unfortunately I don't have the time or inclination to get into 1 - 4 either, there are far too many games coming that I do, definitely, want to play on PC. There's not really anything else upcoming for the PS4 that I'm attracted to.

I'm not selling though as I could end up on a site far from home at a moments notice and it'll get some use then.

@GarGx1: You don't have to play the previous games to play Persona 5- each game is independent.

I fell for the PS4 hype.. now i'm back to PC gaming

Several reasons. As much as I dislike paying to play online, I REALLY don't want to support 2 subscriptions, so it was an either/or. Sony has a long history of delivering a lot of great exclusives, it was cheaper, more powerful and, when I pre-ordered, didn't have the annoying policies of the Xbox One that only secured Gamestop's position in the aftermarket. Having gotten rid of cable TV in favor of an antenna and Hulu, the ability to hook a cable box up to the Xbox One meant nothing to me either. Now, if MS had actually created an all-in-one box (like they claimed) by offering an IPTV service at reasonable cost, that may have changed things.

For exactly the same reasons I chose Xj1.

Bloodborne and a select few other games. That and I liked the white Destiny edition

No I'm not interested in any of the Wii U exclusives, maybe Xenoblade, and Bravely Default but I'm in no rush for them.

I wanted to storm into my local Media Markt to trample people.

I'm glad I didn't buy one though. I'll hold out for a slim along with more worthwhile games :)

This is the reason why I knew I had to have a PS4.

The exclusives Second Son, Uncharted, God of War, ND exclusives, stuff like Heavy Rain and B2S, Hot Shots Golf, Ratchet and Clank, The Order, and small stuff like Motor Storm.

So far I haven't been disappointed.

Even The Order was fun on the highest difficulty.

I already had a Wii U and Xbox One, and they were on sale over the holidays, and I'd need one to play Persona 5 when that releases.

I bought it due to the initial impression that a lot of Japanese developers would put their games on it. So a Persona 5 Machine :P

None of the games have really come out yet, but I do hope that it will be worth it when the games start popping out.

Oh and a SF+MK machine :P

Most 3rd party games are played on the PC, so it was bought for a very specific set of tasks :)

At the time, no mandatory kinect and it was $100 cheaper. All things considered, very few exclusives mattered to me and 3rd parties were more exciting for me.

That's a good list of reasons that I can identify with.

The crap load of exclusives, games. The variety in genres too.

I like to have all the consoles cause I know they'll have exclusives I can't play on the other.

Sony exclusives and all of the japanese exclusives that is always on Sony consoles like Persona, Ni No Kuni II etc.

Persona 5 plus the support the PS4 was getting compared to the competition.
