What was your most favourite FPS game on 2004?

Why?

Riddick. In a year filled with promising shooters, that game ended up pulling the rug underneath a great chunk of them. Doom 3 is more of a tech demo and less of a well paced experience. Half Life 2's gunplay is downright miserable with multiple gameplay scenarios that quickly overstay their welcome. As for Far Cry, while great at the time, is not much fun anymore since it has been outclassed by the sandbox shooters which have come afterwards.

UK2K4 is the only other shooter that's on the same level.

Unreal Tournament 2004 is still the best FPS of all time. Nothing compares...

I voted for Metroid Prime Echos for 2004.

BUT! I am currently playing Doom 3 + Absolute HD Mod (ver 1.6) and it is f'n amazing. One of the best mods Ive ever installed, makes the game just as good as any modern shooter. Well done!

Half Life 2

I hope they bring that sexy voice back in new UT.

DOOM 3 on Xbox. I didn't have a PC at the time but DOOM 3 was totally awesome on Xbox at it's time.

Well I did try some of them later. Like I've played half life 2 in late 2012, tried farcry couldn't get into it, CS: Source maybe I played it in Lan etc.
