Was it the original LittleBigPlanet? I don't really see it as a platformer as much as it is an intricate level creator with a charming single player that blends well into multiplayer. What do you think, SW?

Tearaway for sure. I think DriveClub is also pretty damn innovative in how it approaches things, and if it had pulled it off well at launch, it would have been one for the ages.

DriveClub really set the standard for bad launches.
when was the last truly Innovative game PERIOD?
Exactly. Or are we playing double standards again?
Teraway is the best choice unless you use some weird extremly high standard by witch nothing was innovative in the past years
I guess Tearaway. Before that my favorite is Journey. Like it or not Sony is way more innovative than Nintendo, and I know this thread is an obvious counter-thread to the other Nintendo one.
in a game sense I would say Tearaway.
If it is anything in a game that Counts, I would say they have innovated alot in the delivery of the story of a game (For better or worse). Willing to give that credit.
Uncharted and God of War? What in the hell are you smoking?
I'd say Journey and Tearaway
Tearaway is the only correct answer. Only game to really use all the features of the Vita. Puppeteer was also pretty different and innovative.
Most games don't try to be innovative anymore, they play it safe and release rehashes because safe rehashes sell better than originality, look at Call of Duty.
Uncharted is a Tomb Raider knockoff
God Of War is a DMC or Onimusho knockoff
These are the 2 largest franchises Sony has outside of Gran Turismo which I do give them credit for because with the exception of the original Need for Speed, nothing was going for realistic, but GT took it to another level with tuning etc than Need for Speed did.
Not saying it is necessarily bad as it makes games like Tearaway shine more.
DriveClub has a lot of pretty innovative features for a racer, especially on the community side of things. Sadly none of them worked on launch so most people wrote the game off.
Starhawk last gen had some awesome features when it came to multiplayer gameplay. I would like to see those themes expanded in future games.
Uncharted 2 arguably set the stage for incredibly cinematic games that blend cinema and games together. So far Naughty Dog has been the only dev able to do such a thing without completely ruining the gameplay.
when was the last truly Innovative game PERIOD?
Captain Toad. For Sony, I'd go with The Last of Us.
