The only one I can remember as being possibly game changing was the original Xbox launched with Halo CE and Project Gotham racing. Does anyone know of any other big time launch games?

WiiU had a pretty damn good launch lineup, the only bad was that Nintendo though that was enough
really? zombiU and new super mario bros weren't really must haves.

English, please.
If the 360 could have got Oblivion and Gears of War out of the "launch window" and made them day one games that would have been the best. Still impressive though.
The Dreamcast and the OG Xbox. Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur and Power Stone, that's 3 AAA exclusives. Complemented by arcade perfect ports like House of the Dead 2 and Hydro Thunder, unique gems like Toy Commander and Sega Bass Fishing. On the OG side, you've got Halo:CE, Dead or Alive 3, Project Gotham Racing and Jet Set Radio Future. 4 high quality games, two of which are instant classics, released at launch.
God, the Xbone/PS4 launch looks ridiculously pathetic in comparison.

And yet the ps4 is the fastest selling console ever and xbox one might be the 2nd.
Definitely Gamecube. It's launch was exceptional
Gamecube release date: November 18, 2001
-Pikmin (December 2, 2001)
-Super Smash Bros. Melee (December 3, 2001)
-Wave Race Blue Storm (launch day)
-Star Wars Rogue Leader (launch day)
-Luigi's Mansion (launch day)
-Super Monkey ball (launch day)
A couple of the best games I've ever played are in this list.

They might aswell sell hundreds of millions, that won't change their abysmal launch lineup.
the Wii U, Dreamcast and perhaps Gamecube would be my picks. Anyone claiming the PS4 or X1 and the multiplats (that wer eout for some time, and runs better on PC) would cause me to pause in claiming either of them.
A launch lineup is partly responsible for showing what the console is capable of, hence the top 3 picks. And not the two newest consoles of the console families.
(not to be confused with the consoles being bad, they simply did not put on a good first impression).
Dreamcast one is kind of cheating since it includes all the games released in Japan up until the US release. Actual best "launch lineup" for me is the Gamecube.
this generation had the best launch ever imo
And many more downloadable i mean CoD alone would have been enough for me let alone having an AC game and BF game

That´s one of the worst/least interesting lineups ever, everything already available before on other systems and better in a couple of cases and the only two exclusives are one average shooter and a mediocre(at best) platformer/whatever Knack is. So two average/mediocre exclusives and ports from already existing games, some of them out for a loooong time.
That´s one of the worst launch lineups I can remember.
PS2 Launch American (October 2000)
Tekken Tag alone is a "killer app" but for once a launch has a variety of different games rather than relying on just 1.

Not to mention COD Ghosts was a piece of shit, and BF4 was pretty much broken at launch.

This is the worst post I've ever seen. Seriously, COD Ghosts is absolute trash.
Raise your standards.
I thought the PS1 had an excellent launch, Ridge Racer, Battle Arena Toshiden, and WipeOut.
Though I think the Xbox had the strongest launch of anything I've got, Halo, Dead or Alive 3, Amped, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, NHL Hitz.

Ok. This post can't be serious...
On topic. The Dreamcast had an unbeatable launch. Dat Soul Calibur.

This folks, is shit taste.

Yo, this. The only other console that might have an argument is the Gamecube, and that's a stretch.

The only good game on that list is Black Flag . Others are uninteresting . Warframe is fun but not a system seller .
It's got to be either of the newest consoles or the Vita. Even though we complain that there aren't many games, there are still more games than any other generation on launch
