What?!?!? Sony Trying To Sell Another HQ Building.

What the hell is going on with Sony? I knew they were hurting for cash and they were doing some restructuring, but this is starting to get desperate. Sony is in talks to sell their original HQ building in Tokyo. This is the very first HQ building they owned when they were making the Sony Walkman & Trinitron TV's many moons ago. Locals are blasting Sony in an effort for them to keep the building as it represents Sony's birthplace. What else will Sony sell to keep their business alive?

What I don't understand is why are Sony fanboys so upset when its pointed out that Sony is struggling and may go bankrupt. It's all factual information. It's not something that is pulled out of people's butt. For example saying MS will go bankrupt would be ludicrous and has no basis in reality. Saying Sony is going bankrupt is just factual information. Why get mad. Just pointing the obvious.

Sony is an old company, they have alot of assets......With everything moving into more of an online infrastructure, they just don't need the extra space, hence why they aren't selling all buildings, but rather renting some out as well.

@thegamer00: because Sony isn't going bankrupt, by your definition Sears should've went under years ago as well as JC Penny, but they're still active, Sony is restructuring the company, are they having financial problems? Yes they are does that mean they're going under? No and far from it. MS will not go bankrupt, but in a situation similarly they would see what is profitable and what isn't and I guarantee is Xbox is not profitable to them they will sell it, no company wants anything on their side that will not be profitable, right now Sony's media, game and insurance division are still very profitable

their $1 billion dollar loss projection for this fiscal year is already set, cutting $150 million from that isn't going to make a lick of difference to stockholders, unless it's part of a greater effort to pull it out of the red for the year, so I wonder what other short term sources for revenue they're exploring if their plan is to convince people they're still back in the black

Well, financial are important for gaming. No money? No Games get made. If you can't understand that, then you're dumb as a brick.

Not sure what troubles you're talking about for M$. They just made $6.5 billion in profit last quarter. If that's trouble, I'd like some of it. Sony is about to have another billion in loses... again. They sold buildings and stocks last year to try and show some kind of profit. Now they've sold their Laptop/PC division, outsourcing their HDTV business, closed 20 stores and laid off 6000 employees. Nowthey are talking about selling another HQ building. I'd be worried about what else will be sold or cut. Time will tell.

I think system wars would implode if Sony went bankrupt next year and ended the PS4 early because of it.
