2006 1080p LCoS SXRD Sony 55A2000 with a busted SXRD panel that gives 60% of the screen a green/yellow tint.
Been an issue for about the last four years or some such. It started off tolerable, but gradually got worse. I am growing somewhat tired of it. How bad it is depends quite a bit on the composition of the image. Playing NHL 16, it's not that noticeable. Tomb Raider, snowy mountains are covered in irradiated piss fog, and in greener areas it gets oppressively monochromatic to the point that it's harder to distinguish enemies from the environment, and things in Lara-vision. I kind of don't want to play games on it because of how horrible that game looks.
I'd try to fix it myself, but I'd need to find and buy a similar model TV, cut it in half and all that nonsense. I don't trust it would be financially reasonable to do any of that even if I believed I could, or that I'm be able to sell this big old busted TV. So instead I'm going to throw this fucking $2300+$200 (lamp replacement) thing away. It's a decade old, but still, damned thing was expensive as hell. And for how much it cost, the longevity was garbage. If I recall, that's exactly why Sony quit making these.
Thinking about replacing it with a Samsung UE55JU7005. But I hear Samsung forces ads on you through the Smart Hub agreement. Banners that will show up regardless of input. It basically sounds awful.
edit
My NHL 16 saves and EA account got messed up when I put the Tomb Raider disc in while NHL 16 (digital) was running, and the Xbox One and/or shitty EA code presumably corrupted things as it tried to shut down one game while starting another at the same time. Lost my saves from the last three days, and my EA account got temporarily locked (on at least this console/game) and so I can no longer access any online features until that gets fixed. As long as it doesn't affect any games I'd actually want to play online, I don't care. Until then, I'm more sad about my saves.
So don't make your Xbox One do that, I guess. Is my hot tip for everyone else out there.
