What if the PS3 was $300?

It would totally pawn nintendo. the only reason its selling so fast is because of the price point, if the two were relatively similarly priced, only real nintendo fan boys would by the wii while most of the public would buy the ps3 cause it is superior. We wouldent have all these nintendo queers here justifying how their system is all that even if its a pile of crap with a remote attached to it. IF the ps3 was prices at $300, then nintendo would be the next sega saturn. deadlyliquidxxx

If the PS3 was three hundred dollars, it wouldn't be nearly as powerful, OR Sony would be taking a $500 loss on each console.

Sony are playing the cards that they themselves delt. Nintendo are also playing their hand. To say what would happen if one or the other was priced differntly is a moot point. As ther price changes, so would the product.

I agree 100%. It would be number one and the Wii would be selling less due to people just paying $50 More for it cause PS was last gen's leader and they had a huge base (that is now divided due to it's no price and new image) 

I mean I would be playing Resistance right now maybe and still have 360 even.

But the Wii didn't sell good just cause it's cheap that's a dumb thing to say.
Ipod aren't cheap but do they sell well? No. they  sell ridiculously well. They sell amazing.

Wii is a combination of good ads, good image, fun new controller with games adults can get into and play cause it's so simply.

1. If the PS3 was $300, Sony would take a MASSIVE financial loss.

2. If Sony WASN'T taking a financial loss, the hardware would be SEVERELY downgraded.

3. If Sony WASN'T taking a loss at $300 and the hardware WASN'T SEVERLY downgraded, then Nintendo would be in a position to offer the same hardware as the PS3 with the Wii-Mote for about the same price.

I know you're talking a hypothetical, but there are too many things to consider within this hypothetical. Know what I mean?
