have you ever bought a console because of one or more games that you couldn't find elsewhere?

I think it's worth buying:

Wii: for Super Mario Galaxy series, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Metroid series, Zelda series, Wario, Super Paper Mario. Mario Kart

ps3: Uncharted series, Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, Little Big Planet

360: Halo series, Alan Wake, Forza 3, Fable series, Gears of War 2, Rare games

Multiplats aside ( the 360 wins there imo ), exclusive-wise my preferences go:

1. Wii

2. Ps3

3. 360

None really, I mean if the PS3 was $299 when MGS4 came out, I think that would have been worth it. No other console had a game like that for me personally though.

For me it was: PS3: MGS4 360: Halo and Rare Wii: Zelda, Wiisports and Rayman That was the reason I bought the console at the time. My goal though would have always been to own them all.

I'd say Gears 2 and MGS4 justified the purchase of my 360 and ps3... and as for the rig, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, supreme commander and crysis are definitely mentionables in my book

My friend bought PS3 at $399 just for Metal Gear Solid 4 alone.... But the funny thing is, after he finished MGS 4 he doesn't know which game he should buy next, so after he finished MGS 4 he sold his PS3 for $299!!

1. Nintendo 64: You could buy either Super Smash Bros, Goldeneye, or Perfect Dark, and the amount of play you can get out of any of those games warrants the purchase of the system. In fact, the reason I don't have my N64 is because I borrowed to my cousin when he went away to college--where he only had SSB the entire time there.

2. Gameboy: I remember when the original gameboy at demo koisks all that time ago. It would be worth it for Tetris, alone.

--I suppose you could put the gamecube/wii in there for Smash Bros as well.

No games make a difference with my purchase of a system. The main thing I look for is features that's in a system. The more features built in the more value the system brings for the money spent. The 60 gig was a fully loaded system that now has more features than what Sony is selling now.

Demon's Souls for PS3 But yeah, buying a console just to play one game is a little extreme. Demon's Souls just seems like the best candidate.

GoW3 was the deciding factor between 360 and PS3.

A huge sandbox game like GTA, an MMO, an online FPS or your favorite sports game. Those types of games can offer enough gameplay on their own to justify a systems cost, IMO, if they are your cup of tea.

For me Metal Gear Solid 4 and Mass Effect alone warranted a purchase of each system. I thought Smash Bros Brawl warranted a purchase of a Wii, but it just didn't have the... quality of Melee.

Halo for 360, and SSBB for Wii

I say this because you can put hundreds of hours into each of these exclusives pretty easily because they're so much fun.

Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear Solid 4 are why I have a Playstation 3. Super Mario Galaxy is why I have a Nintendo Wii. Halo is the reason I have a X Box 360.

I know a lot of people who bought a PS2 after seeing GTA3 and most recently I had a friend buy a 360 only to play Rock Band, and on that he only plays the drums. I don't think he has ever used the 360 controller that came with it or the mic/guitar that came with Rock Band.

Lets see:

Wii: SSBB was the reason I purchased one, Monster Hunter Tri is the reason I haven't sold it yet.

360: Gears series was the sole reason I bought a 360. Halo 3 and Dead Rising were just bonuses.

PS3: MGS4 was the reason I bought a PS3 before a 360.

A lot of people are saying that one game alone isn't worth a purchase of one system. Well, for some it may be. If one game can continually provide hours, days, years of entertainment for that person, why not buy the system for that one game?
