TF was bundled etc and Xbone actually showed a decrease in sales :/ :/

Makes sense to me, the game wasn't system seller material. It only sold to the unfortunate current owners of Xbone's. I think a DRASTIC price cut is in order.. You can't sell a weak Lotus for 100 grand more than a Ferrari

$300 Kinectless bone perhaps?

It's already doomed.

M$ needs to scrap it and offer something new for 2014 Christmas

Perhaps collecting all the lemming tears using them to power DX12 will save it.

Haha....decreased in sales. How can we possibly take anything you say seriously.

The X1 is fine. Its got a lot of games on the horizon. Quality software is what pushes hardware long term. Its too early in the gen to write consoles off in their entirety

What can save the X1? New IPs that are must haves. First party IPs that need the X1 to play....not on the 360 or PC either. Because that means the new console isn't necessary for the experience. And MS needs to rehabilitate their image. Even though they backed off from their E3 stance....it still left a bad taste in gamer's mouths. Price drop would be okay.....but without the games....not really worth much. Make it a necessary console. Right now...it's not.

Nothing can or will save the bone. Nothing can or will save wiiu. Praise lord PS4. But seriously there's nothing that can save it. If HALO was anywhere near as big as it once was (like back in 05) then Halo 5 could have saved it. Xbone will teach MS not to release weak ala wiiu systems, systems with no games as well.

Save isn't even remotely necessary as its selling good, just not as great as the PS4. Xbox One needs 5 things and then sales will stabilize and they will be fine going forward.

1. Have a incredible E3 with great exclusive games, unannounced games, surprises, and new features for the system. Gotta knock it out the park!

2. After showing all of that at E3, close with a price cut that at least meets the PS4 price, but even better undercuts it if possible, with Kinect still in the box. For those that don't want Kinect, let them sell it on EBay/Amazon and recoup a few bucks. For those that do, keep updating it like Twitch Broadcasting, Xbox Fitness, and Upload Studio. Just keep refining the experience. Get that Netflix Kinect app ASAP.

3. Stop talking about graphics comparisons and all of that. Focus on those new SDK's. Keep updating them, work on finishing the DX12 support and use the cloud more. In total, maximize what the One can do instead of talking about how it compares to the PS4. Stay focused in your own backyard.

4. Games for Gold must meet or exceed PS+ - Give Live the value of more up to date free games.

5. The rumored 360 backwards support on disk rather than the cloud DO THAT SHIT! That would be amazing and its worth focusing a great deal of effort on.

Those 5 things do not guarantee the One will outsell the PS4. But they do guarantee the One being successful, profitable long-term, and could possibly get them back in the race. Price is key, but hammer the games and features and finish E3 with the price drop. Entice many of those 80+ 360 owners to upgrade in their own backyard. PS4 is at 7 million, MS is at 4+. You are not at all out of a race after five months with those many millions and millions of gamers who haven't bought into next gen yet. But the climb back will be tough, but it can be done. Hungry, desperate, fighting MS is best MS.

It's been 3 E3's and MS hasn't hammered the games. I mean hell they didn;'t even hammer the games with the Xbox One E3.
I doubt they'll do it this year. Focus on some kinect stuff. Show a new exclusive and mention some timed exclusive thing. Like they have done year after year.

That's nice but this is about the X1. I haven't upgraded yet to this gen. No games entice me yet. But there are some coming out soon which will necessitate the jump.

It's not gloom and doom yet. If when Microsoft releases in the other regions in September and drops the X1's price to $400 this holiday the PS4 is still beating it's face in, then it's done.

Last year when they announced Killer Instinct, Quantum Break, Titanfall, Fable Legends, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, and Halo 5 I couldn't ask for more as a gamer. Five of those games are out now, and we'll see how many of the others are released this year and what new titles are announced. Game wise they are likely to have a fantastic E3, but we will see. All my other points I think address the point of the thread.

Maybe MS could release a "Happy Day" commercial like Sony. That highlights said games.

A delayed game in Driveclub..

A game that ran like shit on the PS3 Skyrim

The epic game that is Killzone..

That commercial makes me LMAO every time I see it.

It's like the we suck at games Campaign. Classic. You can't make that shit up.

Microsoft should run adds like that. = Profits. Works for Sony.

1. MS doesn't usually have great E3s.

2. Price cuts tend to make the competitor do the same. This early in the generation it's hard to sell for more of a loss per console. And with some in MS wanting to end the games division...this could be the push that does it. I don't think that's what you want.

3. DX and Cloud don't mean shit to the general population. That focus works here where you argue specs all day. But it's not a selling point to most people. Games are.

4. MS needs to stop requiring payment for services other than online gaming.

5. The 360 isn't that expensive. If I want a 360 (well not me per se...I have one)....just buy it. Why pay more for the X1 to play old games wherein I can get a cheaper console to do so?

Better to read my initial post to see what MS needs to focus on. Games sell consoles.

this^

you know what the sad part is? That everyone here shares one thing in common. we all love video games. I mean why else would anyone post on a video game forum? and MS is doing everything and jumping through hoops to deliver games while sony has made promises they haven't come through on. deep down has gone quiet, so has the order. drive club delayed to oblivion, big layoffs and projects canceled etc. meanwhile MS has been focusing on actually bringing games to gamers, and people who are sony fanboys are trashing them?

Price is key, but hammer the games and features and finish E3 with the price drop. Entice many of those 80+ 360 owners to upgrade in their own backyard. PS4 is at 7 million, MS is at 4+. You are not at all out of a race after five months with those many millions and millions of gamers who haven't bought into next gen yet. But the climb back will be tough, but it can be done. Hungry, desperate, fighting MS is best MS.

1. MS had a great "games" E3 last year. It was the DRM and price that fucked it up. I was discussing games

2. Phil Spencer already confirmed his meeting with MS CEO and they are all in for the One, and even the guy that wanted to sell the gaming division is at the same table working to make it better. Whatever the future holds the Xbox One isn't going anywhere.

3. Never meant DX12 and cloud as advertising. I mean use the MS engineers working on it to work with devs to maximize what the One can do, and for MS to focus on what it can do instead of comparisons it can't win. New SDK, better use of the cloud and DX12 will greatly improve Xbox One performance. Never said it would make it more powerful than the PS4. My point is for MS to focus on MS.

4. Live is what it is. I just don't care. I do care about games with gold not being as good as PS+.

5. If I own a 360 and I want a One, why not see being able to play all of my games on one console? Its a win/win if MS can do it. Then maybe I trade in my 360 and use the money for something else.

Ryse wasn't announced at E3 last year......

you know what the sad part is? That everyone here shares one thing in common. we all love video games. I mean why else would anyone post on a video game forum? and MS is doing everything and jumping through hoops to deliver games while sony has made promises they haven't come through on. deep down has gone quiet, so has the order. drive club delayed to oblivion, big layoffs and projects canceled etc. meanwhile MS has been focusing on actually bringing games to gamers, and people who are sony fanboys are trashing them?

Not everyone who disagrees with or criticizes MS' philosophy is a Sony fan. Constructive criticism is just that...and not knowing the difference shows ones self to be the fan boy.

1. So was I. And historically when E3s are rated....MS is not the top.

2. First.....you really are not going to be privvy to the shareholder meetings. Second....the company wants to sell consoles...of course the PR spin will be positive. Third....if the console struggles and they have to keep dropping the price particularly early in the life span then even if what you say is true......can...and probably will necessitate a change of heart.

3. You missed the entire point.

4. You don't care. Wonderful. But I thought we were talking about what MS can do to entice sales.

5. MS wants more than just a die hard Xbox fan. To entice people to buy new....you don't give them a cheaper alternative. They need X1 games to wow the public.....not make 360 games a focus. Otherwise as I said....buy a less expensive 360 to play those games if it's what you want.

Look...you seem very defensive of any criticism to MS' gaming division. Put the fan boy away and step back and look objectively at what they need to do.

Come on dude, its human nature. They are fanboys of what has been the lead horse 3/4 gens, coming off a gen where they had to slurp some homble pie off the floor. They are smiling and rejoicing that they are still cheerleaders for the lead horse again. Its all in fun. As for games, this is an advantage that Sony has, as they have never not brought games to their console. I, personally have enjoyed the games brought to Xbox consoles for two gens so I bought this one. But I buy both consoles every gen so it doesn't matter to me.

Totally agreed. But it seems a little fanboyish to ask for "saving" when the console is outpacing its predecessor and all but 2 other consoles in history.

Xbone doesn't need saving. It's destined for second place this gen. Nothing wrong with that.

I just took saving as a means for increase sales.....

It's selling better than the PS3 or the 360 did at the same point in it's lifespan. It's selling 60% more than the Xbox 360 did during the same timeframe, in fact. It seems hard for people here to understand that success for a platform is not a zero sum game with the success of it's competition. Just because the PS4 is doing great doesn't mean the Xbox One is doomed.
