What are the positive for the 3 current gen consoles

I know this is system wars, but I often see a lot of people posting for advice on a potential purchase of the PS4, Xbox One or WiiU. So I would like to know what you gamers that own more than one of the "big three" or all of them think of each one as far as strengths and maybe even weaknesses!

PS4 - currently has better line-up than PS3 did at this point last gen

xbox one - currently has better line-up than xbox 360 did at this point last gen

wii U - currently has better line-up than wii did at this point last gen

* line-up includes games released and confirmed up coming games.

PS4 - for gamers by gamers

XB1 - all in one system

Wiiu - has games that truly look fun without being part of this ridiculous resolution war

I own none of them..... All they I will own a Wii U soon enough. The last Bastion of proper game design.

-Nintendo will continue to do their thing. Best games available and a shame more people aren't supporting the system considering it offers the potential for new gameplay.

-Sony is sort of boring, imo. It is like they bought into the hype, sold the system, got the lopsided lead, and are just sitting there eating nachos.

-With Sony doing that, MS will be forced to produce the games and move the "next" gen forward(though I think Nintendo may actually garner the support going into the following gen). MS has shown this as well. Xbox One has better games than ps4, and seems to be going back to the xbox of old, circa 2003.

PS4- Pro: Most powerful of the three on paper. Cons: No BC, No STB capability

Xbox One: STB capability, Kinect Cons: No BC, Despearately in need of new IPS to the levels of Halo and Gears of War.

WiiU:Current line up and Good 1st party development support, BC, Tablet Controller Cons: Least Graphical Muscle power

PS4-gen 8 leader and a world class pedigree of first part exclusives.

WiiU-cheapest consoles

Xbone-The dropped Kinect(lol)

Thank heavens for Sony's love for gamers everywhere.

XBOXOne: Good upcoming games, all in one console.
Wii U: Nice exclusives
PS4: the price is better then the 599 us dollars

WiiU: Has awesome exclusives and the tablet controller can be pretty neat for games like in Pikmin 3

PS4: Really awesome system with lots of potential. VR will also be very nice.

PC: Best graphics, best VR, best controls and multiple monitors make it the ultimate gaming platform.

XBone: Might make a good doorstop. Looks like a VHS player.

This seems about right as far consoles are concerned.

Playstation 4: Sony's first party games and superior multiplats from a console perspective

Xbox: Microsoft first party games and the fact that at the least it gets multiplats.

WiiU: Platinum Games!, oh and Nintendo's first party.

PS4 - heavy focus on big single player experiance

Wii U - heavy focus on family fun

X1 - Heavy focus on social gaming

FYI platinum is currently making an X1 exclsuive

PS4: Strongest, most powerful console getting all the indies, multiplats, oh, and Naughty Dog, PS+ is still a steal

wii u - exclusive franchises like mario and zelda. free online mp gaming. cheaper than other 2 consoles.

xbox 1 - exclusive franchises like gears,halo,forza, fable. controller is pretty awesome (minus the bumper) chat headset is okay

ps4 - exclusive franchises like gt, uncharted, god of war. instant game collection. out of the 2 consoles, online mp is cheaper. a little bit more powerful than other 3 consoles. controller is pretty good (minus the deteriorating thumbstick)

I like Sony's first party. Not all of it, but stuff like God of War, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, LittleBigPlanet, Wipeout, this is all stuff I really do like. But out of these-

Wipeout is now a dead series.

Ratchet and Clank has been on a downward slide for the last six or seven years, and it won't even have Insomniac at the helm going forwards

God of War Ascension was a disaster, and makes me wary of any future God of War games. I think the series is in need of a refresh, and when that happens, I am sure it will be awesome again, and I will be on board.

LittleBigPlanet I'd be looking forward to, but 3 isn't Media Molecule, so I'm adapting a wait and watch approach on this one

So really, that leaves Naughty Dog as the only part of Sony's first party that interests me that I can still have faith in without reservations for now. It's why I specifically named them.

Impressive 2015 exclusive lineup, $399 XB1 SKU, DX12/Cloud coming in 2015, All-In-One system that does Music, TV, Movies, Sykpe, IE, other app and Snap Technology. Kinect voice commands. Can play music CD.

Weaknesses - Still has some poor hype and a $499 XB1 on retail shelves. Multiplats aren't as strong. No Kinect games and Kinect apps to show what it can do. Launched with hardware that didn't have all the tools and drivers ready for it.

@scottpsfan14: I'm really excited to see what Naughty Dog does next. Definitely one of the most talented studios in the world.

I'll be buying the Ratchet remake regardless- the original is actually my favorite in the series, so I'll pick it up just for nostalgia's sake, if nothing else. God of War, I really really hope comes back. God of War I and II are among my top ten favorite games of all time, so God of War Ascension (and to a lesser extent, God of War III, though I know that is a bit of an unpopular opinion) sort of hurt. Maybe they should remake it in Nordic mythology. Have us play as Thor or Loki. It would be so badass, plus the setting would be nothing like the series has ever seen yet as well.

I haven't yet played through all of The Last of Us, but from what I understand, it was originally intended to be a one shot. Certainly, its story seems to be of the kind where I think a sequel might just diminish the impact. But again, I haven't actually played the game, so this is just me speculating.

My issues with God of War III are with the story (it's a bad story, poorly paced, and somehow provides an even poorer resolution to Kratos than God of War II's open cliffhanger did), with the de-emphasizing of the puzzle solving and action adventure parts (seriously, sometimes the game just feels like an arena brawler), and with a game that is generally easier to play and lacks substance compared to God of War II. Ascension was tripe, but you already know that lol.

They all have a handful of good games, PS4 and the One both share a few of course. I'd say WiiU currently has the most since it has that year head start, but all three also have a large amount of games to look forward to.

If you ignore all the hate from the graphics and sales trolls here you'll easily have a great time with any of them, or even better a combination of two of them (I'm doing WiiU and the One this gen)

Why would you say Insomniac won't be at the helm of Ratchet when they are the helm of the latest Ratchet for PS4 and involved in the Ratchet Movie as well?

Because I was under the impression that they wouldn't be. Happily, scott already corrected me above and now I know Insomniac will be helping with the remake, which makes me pretty happy.

I was just floored by that out of left field "impression" I suppose since E3 was a while ago. Maybe it's how SW, or even the internet, disseminates information? I just didn't understand how an impression like that would formulate other than the mere existence of Insomniac's new IP Sunset Overdrive maybe?

My favorite Ratchet was 2 or 3, since those had RPG aspects lacking in the original. I'm hoping the new elements they are adding to this remake incorporate those abilities.

I don't know how or why I got the idea. I must have fallen asleep during that part of Sony's E3 press conference. It was boring enough for that to have been a distinct possibility.

I know objectively the Ratchet games that follow are better- 3 is the pinnacle- but nostalgia has made the first one my favorite, and I cannot wait to see how it is modernized.

Back when Ratchet 1 came out, I favored the original Jak over Ratchet, but overtime I grew to like Ratchet sequels more than Jak sequels...and sandwich Sly Cooper somewhere in the middle back then.

I'm definitely keen to see what a PS4 Ratchet might look like. I remember being floored by Ratchet: Tools of Destruction when that first released.

Oh yes, Tools was great. I still don't understand the Gamespot review for it, honestly.

I was always a Ratchet guy over Jak, myself. It just had oodles of style, charm, and some great fusion of a lot of gameplay genres. Insomniac's mishandling of the franchise in the last few years pained me- how they went from, say, A Crack In Time, to crap like All 4 One or Full Frontal Assault, I still don't understand. Into The Nexus was a good taste of what the series used to be like, I gather, but eh. I want a full fledged Ratchet and Clank game that's as good as the series' glory days again.

Wii U- best library right now, you can get a free game with Mario Kart 8 until the end of July.

WiiU - Off TV Play and Backwards Compatibility.

PS4 - WILL get the Latest and Greatest Games. At least it will be the best supported.

Xbox One - Decent Controller? I can't really think of anything that will one up the PS4 with this console since it'll pretty much get the same respect as the PS4 development wise.

@LegatoSkyheart: You're out of luck if you want a decent baseball game. PS4 is literally the only option for that. Xbox One tried to be a media platform and failed miserably (mainly because Kinect fails to recognize natural speech). Wii U does have backward compatibility, but only if you already amassed a library of Wii games or is looking to stream capture gameplay (Xenoblades, Last Story, or any of the niche titles, for starters).
