While most people on here are busy talking about the big console exclusives coming out next year(Uncharted, Bloodborne, No Man's Sky, Halo 5 etc) I personally find myself far more hyped for the multiplats. I'm kind of autistic when it comes to making lists(ugh love a good list <3) so was just wondering what you guys would agree to as the 6 biggest of next year in terms of a consensus. In order of general hype and expectations i'd go with.

#1 - Metal Gear Solid 5 - The Phantom Pain
#2 - Batman - Arkham Knight
#3 - The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt
#4 - Final Fantasy 15(if it actually comes out next year)
#5 - Battlefront 3
#6 - The Division

What do you guys think?

  1. Persona 5

I don't care about what comes after as long as Persona 5 is #1.

FFXV and BF3 in 2015? i don't see it.

And The Division hyped after Ubisoft's performance in 2014? hell no.

TW3, Batman AK and MGS5 TPP seem like the big 3.

Also, Mortal Kombat X and Just Cause 3

Oddly, the only multiplat I'm looking forward to is Resident Evil Remake HD.

Didn't they confirm that they would be timing it for release with episode 7?

Huh, didn't know about that. But it makes sense. 2 years from BF4, like it was for BF3 before it.

If so, cool. BF4's netcode was fucked, but it's an great game actually. So, i'm hoping DICE can pull it off.

@charizard1605: Serious question. Does Persona 5 only need to be P3/P4 with a few changes for fans to like it and live up to the hype?

I mean, i'd guess so, since p4 was release 7 years ago. But is that for you guys, or do you need more?

I made a thread recently, where I talked about some things I'd want improved, such as the dungeons. But mostly, yes, it could simply build on the Persona 3/4 base, and that would be it- like you said, it has been seven years since Persona 4, and perhaps equally important, there is literally nothing else on the market like it. Every other game has at least a partial analog- there is no analog for Persona. Persona 3 and 4 are the only two games of their kind.

So yes, I would like to see it grow and expand, and I would like for them to fix things that are definitely wrong with the games- but even if they don't, I will be satisfied. It's been too long since we got a brand new game like it.

I didn't really like the setting in Persona 4 with the TVs and the mall, I would like for them to return to something more intimidating like the Tartarus (which reminds me of the tower in Azure Dreams). P3 also had a darker tone -- and a downright traumatizing ending -- which I loved.

So yeah, all they have to do is take Persona 4, bring back the Tartarus and the constant "End of the World" feeling, add in a few new characters and gameplay elements and that's it. GOAT material.

The ending in Persona 3 is amazing- it's bold as ****, it's actually refreshing to see a story attempt something like that. I have so much respect for Persona 3 because of its ending, and I think Atlus sort of chickened out with Persona 4 (even though the ending there was still great).

I hope we can have something more like Persona 3's ending for Persona 5.

@hernandezzzz: @charizard1605: Cool. And yeah i have agree on the uniqueness.

From what've read of it, combing highschool life sim, with all the dating and time management stuff (i think it has that) with random dungeon crawling and pokemon like collecting Personas, it's definitely a unique game.

Can't accuse ATLUS of milking the series. Well, sequels atleast. They're definitely ok with making dancing spin offs and stuff.

Also, considering how well rated they are, i can see it being a great game.

@deadline-zero0: Yeah, definitely. There is nothing else like it. It's not even just the mechanics (though those are all very unique, as you highlighted yourself)- but from a narrative and thematic perspective, the games are simply far too bold and different than anything else on the market. Between Persona 3 and 4, themes like suicide, gender identity, sexual orientation searching for the absolute truth, abandonment complex, ulterior and unhealthy friendships, death, modern capitalism versus traditional business, modern parenting boiling down to device babysitting, social awkwardness, and choice are addressed and handled- and they are addressed and handled very well.

The games are simply a breath of fresh air from everything else on the market, in every way possible.

Witcher 3 and FFIV (which won't make next year).

I predict The Division will blow and I don't think that many people are really excited about it anyway. Weirdly I think games people are most hyped about next year are not multiplats.: Bloodborne, Halo Guardians, Quantum Break, Uncharted.

#6 - The Division

What do you guys think?

I'm interested in the first four games and a bunch of exclusives. I'm really excited to try No Man's Sky, Batman, and Metal Gear Solid 5 next year. Everything else is gravy (Bloodborne, Persona 5, Quantum Break, Uncharted 4, Halo 5, etc.).

I don't care about BF or Division. I am interested in Mortal Kombat X, Guilty Gear Xrd, and Street Fighter 5 of course as a long time fighting fan.

I guess my list is:

  1. Metal Gear Solid 5
  2. Batman Arkham Knight
  3. No Man's Sky
  4. Street Fighter 5
  5. Guilty Gear Xrd
  6. Uncharted 4
  7. Bloodborne
  8. Quantum Break
  9. Persona 5
  10. Zelda?
  11. Mortal Kombat X
  12. Halo 5 (343...)

I didn't even list the obvious Nintendo Wii U titles I'll be buying next year nor the surprise Indies I get every year.

2015 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2014

...if these games release in 2015 and they aren't buggy as hell or surprisingly awful.

Other titles like God of War 4, Kingdom Hearts, Quantic Dream's new PS4 game, and GeoW4 I'm getting, but not sure of their release dates.

It's year 2 of course it's going to happen. I've found great things in year one but it's a good thing to me that it looks like the big hitters next year on all consoles will be exclusives.

A little bit of me thinks Witcher 3 will be fantasy Far Cry 4 and I really, really have had enough of Geraldt. An RPG where you don't take a role but play out someone elses I'm not sure that will cut it 3 times in a row specially given how weak their skill system is outside of hack and slash. Witcher 3 story needs to be phenomenal considering how much it lacks everywhere else.

I'm just covering my ass in case of unforeseen delays or bugs.

At any rate, as I've said many times this year:

2015 is chock full of bonafide gaming goodness.

The concept is really cool. I'm just wondering what's going to make me want to explore the procedurally-generated worlds after the first few hours. Hopefully it will have fun and dynamic combat or something. Proceedurally-generated level design also has a tendency to be... repetitive; it's usually best to compliment the randomness with hand-crafted areas to make it feel less robotic.

MGS5. I can see it getting pushed back to 2016 though, after playing Ground Zeroes and seeing how robust such a small game was. It had so much back story, dialogue and little side stuff. If the entirety of Phantom Pain is that thorough, with Kojima being a perfectionist, I don't see it coming out soon. They don't even have a set date: it's finished when it's finished

Would argue it has more to do with the characters, yes those themes describe add something to the backstory of most characters, and why the player likes them, but it's still more about them. Because thematically speaking Persona doesn't do anything for the sake of reflection, it's just there to be window dressing. That sort of comes with the territory of being pulp narrative the way Persona is.

The other stuff would argue isn't a breath of fresh air, because jrpgs have had that type of window dressing for years. Persona is just a more confident, better produced, more self aware experience. It knows it's bat shit stupid, so it never shys away from that tone. Final Fantasy on the flip side takes itself seriously.

I have no clue what the objective of the game is besides exploration. I have no interest at this point in the game.

What is the objective. Anyone know? Planet hopping?

@b4x: @hrt_rulz01: Your concerns are expected. I've read about the game and already replied about this in another thread.

To keep it short, there's suppose to be a main campaign that'll be, according to them, 40 to 100 hours long. However, there's also no cutscenes or dialogue, apparently, so how this supposed narrative is delivered, is unkown.

Outside of that, there's no missions or quests. You can mine resources to upgrade your armor suit and weapon to fight of robots, apparently called the Malevolant Force.

Also, you can't build your ship, just upgrade it and they don't want you meanting up wtih others, so pvp seems out of the table.

Finally, they already confirmed 90% of the worlds will not even have life at all. Those dinossaurs and weird aliens? They're supposibly very rare to find.

Sadly, your points are correct. From what i've gathered, the interaction with the universe is extremely limited. They've even said you can't pick up a flower or chop down a tree.

Keep in mind may be missing in some crucial details here and there and without the final product i can't give a correct info loadout, but alot of it is correct.

I see this game more has a tech demo fo the random generation they have going on. I hope to be proven wrong, but considering they keep showing the same stuff in the trailers, i can't say i'm confident.

You know the year is going to be great when MGS is absent from a top 5 anticipated that EXCLUDE exclusives. I don't see FFXV or Star Wars being 2015 or those would bump my last 2 choices off.

Only one I care about right this second is Persona 5.

But I'm sure MGSV, Arkham Knight, Witcher 3 etc. will be quite good.

MGS5 and Batman Arkham Knight are my biggest picks of next year,

Everything else is hit and miss, I mean honestly The Division it looks good on paper, But I don't see it being that good online, and it's Ubisoft and I just can't trust them for awhile, I mean the Division is only going to work if you have a good bunch of people playing otherwise once the idiots come in, it going to be annoying
