The hell. you buy a game called Grand Theft Auto, a game as the name suggest about stealing cars and you don't like the driving parts and want to focus on the shooting. What do you expect. Would you buy a game like Final Fantasy then say it's crap because there is too much turn based fighting you can't skip.
As for not expecting much from Rockstar... the hell? This game is obviously way out of everyone's league when it comes to optimisation and polish. Look what it did to Ubisoft and Watchdogs, and sleeping dogs although and good game in it's own right has nothing on GTAV, the driving parts of Sleeping Dogs and Just Cause are complete crap but that's not what the games are about I suppose.
And as for Saints Row, I've played 2 and 3 and they are total crap, 2 was a bad port with poor optimisation on PC at the time so unplayable for me, and the 3rd one... again the driving is a total joke, not to mention the awful pop-in. But that's my opinion anyway.
No, it is a great game. The only part I didn't like was the ending, but that could just be them leaving an opening for DLC. San Andreas is still my favorite GTA game though.
As a pc gamer, I don't know what that is.
Sucks for you. Because as a PC gamer, I have already beaten it and on my second play through.
MUCH less so than GTA4, that's for sure. I still haven't found it as re-playable as San Andreas, but I was not disappointed in 5.
After all was said and done, yes, I was disappointed with it overall. While impressive graphically, the game didn't do anything impressive or different other than having inter-changing protagonists. The online became repetitive extremely fast and the package as a whole didn't live up to its level of hype.
Truth is, there were many better games to play than GTA V in 2013.
Going through the story the first time was a good experience, but there is virtually no end game, and the online is a travesty
I haven't played it yet. If I end up having to play it on my PS3, I will probably end up liking it less than 4.
Actually, no, I absolutely loved it. Certainly one of the best games of the generation, in my opinion. This is the Xbox 360 version I'm talking about, I haven't seen the PS3 version.
I wouldn't say I was disappointed, but it didn't quite match my very high expectations, despite it being a great game and my GOTY for 2013. It certainly did have it's faults and wasn't the masterpiece others made it out to be. Given the ridiculous amount of hype I can understand why some people may have been disappointed, but I don't think you can say you were disappointed if you actually enjoyed the game.
