Rumor has it that the Xbox One versions of MGSV and PES 2016 will be 1080p/60 fps according to this source.

"The great info is that both games on Xbox One will be in 1080p/60fps. We heard that by Julien Merceron, involved in the development of Konami's Fox Engine. Thanks to the new SDK, developers were able to upgrade low resolution textures to high definition ones. Ground Zeroes and Pes 2015 were both 720p resolution on Xbox One."

Dropping Kinect is paying off slowly but surely. I HIGHLY doubt these games will run 60 fps though....

Yeah, it was kind of odd that Ground Zeroes was only 720p on the Xbone. I mean, the game is essentially just a PS360 game being ported up.

This is more a testament to the skill of kojima technical engineers than anything else. After the shit show that was The Witcher 3 on consoles by CD project, the difference between devs who simply relay on more powerful tech and the ones who are actually more skilled becomes clear.

Also, I do not know why you are hyping a new SDK for this, Kojima is a 3rd party dev. Talk when MS first party devs (343) can get their shit together. SMH taking the merit away for Kojima's work with that foolishness.

Oh possibly, I really don't know. Either way you slice it though, a current gen console shouldn't be having trouble with last gen games.

Have you seen Halo 5? If Ground Zero is anything to go by then I don't know where your argument is going when comparing it to Halo 5.

Is TW3 still 900p on PS4 barely 30 fps? Yeah, it's not impressive sorry.

I laugh at the people getting this on anything but Playstation.

MGS is tied to Playstation. It's the platform you play MGS games on. So whatever specs you have, whatever preferences, it means ****-all when it comes down to where a game belongs. No place like home. Playstation.

Forza does look better, which is why it's funny that PC performs badly on consoles and I don't see any reason why it could've have run on Wii U.

idk man, I haven't seen project cars on consoles but Forza 5's never been too impressive visually.

I agree, but I'm just pointing out the Xbone did double the framerate over last gen while maintaining the same resolution. That's why it was 720p. I read somewhere Kojima had a choice between bumping up the resolution or bumping up the framerate, and he opted for framerate for Xbone. On the PS4, he did both.

That said, yes, I would have expected a last gen game to have a much easier time on new hardware.

I was really responding to davillain who seemed to be sincerely questioning the Xbone at the time.

Except it's a fakeboy parody post designed really to mock others.

The real problem with this thread is that sketchy wacky foreign website source. I don't think many people here clicked on the site, people around here respond to titles as if they are 100% legit and bounce on.

In a few months, people will be recalling this thread as a legit reason they believed MGS5 was 1080p/60fps on Xbone only to find out it's really 720p or 900p at launch. I'm sure there will be confusion in the coming months, maybe even years. Kojima prioritized the 60fps for this title. That does beg the question if Konami would change his work and allow for huge frame rate dips on Xbone to push 1080p on the box since Kojima recently left (last week I believe) and he wouldn't be there to stop/debate with some marketers decisions at Konami.

Ah, I see what you're saying. And yeah, the choice was there and he made the right one imo. 60fps is a much larger benefit to this game than some extra resolution.

I read somewhere Kojima had a choice between bumping up the resolution or bumping up the framerate, and he opted for framerate for Xbone. On the PS4, he did both.

That said, yes, I would have expected a last gen game to have a much easier time on new hardware.

Ah, I see what you're saying. And yeah, the choice was there and he made the right one imo. 60fps is a much larger benefit to this game than some extra resolution.

I think Kojima made the right call as well.

I think a smooth framerate is better for the gamers than the resolution bump because even in a higher res, we won't see the nanomachines either way.
