I am joking, I am building a PC this summer that has I7 4770k, 16GB ram, 780ti 6gb version. I hope it plays Watch Dogs better than a PS4! :D

I doubt it. That 6GB is the only reason to get a Titan for gaming, I really don't think Nvidia would do that. The next line of cards will be on Maxwell.

Naughty Dogs games are linear shooters , nothing more . This is open world it looks better because of txaa.and without a doubt looks a lot better on PC than PS4 and Xbox One , cross gen or not .

it looks a lot better because of txaa. it will likely be the exact same scenario as AC4. all the pc enhancements side by side with the ps4 version are incredibly minor if your rig has an amd card or an nvidia card too slow to use txaa.

and AC4 does look better on PC despite being a console port . It have better lighting , shadows , textures , draw distance etc . On other hand Watch Dogs was designed for PC first , so difference is going to be huge .

you realize as far as we know right now, watch dogs features even less pc specific features than AC4 right? and yes as i noted, AC4 looks better on the pc but its not very noticeable if you cant use txaa, which gives a solid improvement in motion(not screens) @Cloud_imperium

Xbone version probably looks like shit.. First hint was when MS stole PS4 footage and tried to pass it as Xbone gameplay.

The only thing you need a Titan for is if you want 8xMSAA

Same will be true of Watch Dogs. But, by all means, enjoy your stutterstation4 version.

A GTX 660 on PC will run this at ultra for the same.

Any form of superior anti-aliasing will make the game look better in motion. You're obviously not going to see that kind of a difference in a screenshot, but it makes a huge difference when actually playing the game.

In addition, though, the PC version has a more advanced form of light shafts that fill an entire scene and don't just filter down in a simple starburst pattern from a singular point. Another advantage on the PC is the use of HBAO+ instead of the older SSAO. This results in a more accurate, fuller shading of scenes on the PC version. The PC version also has better shadow quality across the board and even features contact hardening shadows which the PS4 version completely lacks.

All of these differences are much more noticeable while playing the game at full resolution on your own display in a wide variety of scenarios.

As far as the disingenuous screenshot comparison you posted implying that there isn't much difference between the PC and PS4 versions, well, we could just as easily post screenshots of the PS4 and XB1 versions and pretend that because they look similar at a glance in screenshots the XB1 version indeed looks just as good as the PS4 version. But that would be dishonest. In reality the PS4 version does look better than the XB1 version when actually being played at full resolution on an HD display.

Just looking at screenshots some people might even say the XB1 version looks better because it looks clearer due to the weaker depth of field, but when you actually see both versions being played the XB1 version looks noticeably rougher due to the weaker DOF, worse aliasing, lower resolution and less consistent framerate.

The point is, screenshots can be very misleading if you don't know what you are looking at. Having the same artwork and a similar look at a glance does not mean that a person will have the same impression when actually playing the game.

im well aware of the differences between all 3 versions. your own pc/ps4 screen comparison shows the improvement to be extremely minor(nvidia tessellated god rays are used very subtly, its a small improvement in very specific scenarios). FYI, regular msaa is very ineffective in this game. you rly do need txaa or massive amounts of downsampling to produce a meaningful improvement.

I'd say the differences in the ambient occlusion and shadow quality are pretty significant. The more advanced god rays also make a big difference to me and result in probably the best looking volumetric lighting I have seen in any game.

MSAA works as good in this game as one would expect. Combining 2x MSAA with SMAA produces very good results and isn't too awfully demanding. I personally use TXAA x2 (sometimes combined with SMAA or FXAA) and it produces a very clean image nearly free of the flickering and crawling jaggies that are otherwise so prevalent in this game.

msaa removes almost none of the edge crawling in this game. theres very little difference in motion between msaa and smaa. also the vegetation(which theres tons of) shimmers like crazy without txaa. No logical being would say the AO improvement and contact hardening shadows significantly improves the overall impact of the graphics. Certainly not digital foundry
